Re: Halo Infinite Actor Suggests The Game Will Be Out Next Spring

Hypnotoad107

I think it has to come out in Spring. Could you imagine the console being out for a year with no 1st party exclusives? Not a good look. I bet they’d like Halo out in time for the 2nd wave of consoles that will be coming out in spring. Just when sales will be slowing down, they can have Halo to help pick them back up. I also think there’s a decent shot at Starfield in the fall.

Articles like this and the comments on them make me realize how many different types of gamers there are. Most people in comment sections on video game websites don’t have any interest in eSports at all, but it is obviously a massive subsection of the culture. It just goes to show that it is farcical to think that the majority opinions contained in these comment sections are actually representative of the gaming population as a whole.

@StonyKL You’ll hear a lot of Americans say we need to “buy American” until they realize it’s cheaper to buy a similar “made in China” product on Amazon for a fraction of the price. I don’t think there really is a loyalty to US products. Surely, Xbox is just bigger here because of the big push during the xbox360 era. It was huge in America (and widely available) for that year before the PS3 released. I think moreso than in other regions.

Re: Poll: Which Xbox Series X Launch Game Is Your Favourite So Far?

Hypnotoad107

It’s a bit disappointing. I think the Gears 5 “remaster” is the most next gen thing on the system so far. That game is beautiful. I think people that say Gears hasn’t been good since Gears 3 are just a bunch of people (probably PS4 only owners) that haven’t played the new ones. I think Gears 5 is right up there with Gears 2.
As far as launch lineup, I’m not really upset I bought a XSX since I would’ve ended up with one eventually, but there really isn’t going to be much until 2022, it looks like. The good for MS is that I think Sony will have already released their major titles and will have a huge break around that time. Hopefully, MS can deliver on a bunch great next gen experiences.

Re: Microsoft Wants Bethesda Games To 'Show Up The Best' On Xbox

Hypnotoad107

@Kefka2589 I’m not going to lie, I’ll feel a little betrayed if MS puts their games on the PS5 after staying loyal to their ecosystem through the lean years and through this very lean launch (I have a Series X and I’m playing the same games I was 2 weeks ago). If they do, I might jump ship to being a Sony household. I have 4 XB1s in my house for my sons and myself and only one PS5, so I’ll just flip that and get 4 PS5s and only one XSX.

Edit: Rereading my post, I realize that it might come across as a bit petty, but I don’t care.

2 year exclusivity would be best, I think, if they go that route. They get the people that just flat out refuse to invest in Xbox, but for many fans 2 years is just too long to wait, and they’ll be driven to your ecosystem. I have a PS4 and an X1X, and I prefer the X1X enough that a 1 year timed exclusive deal isn’t enough to make me get it on the PS4 (like Kingdom Hearts 3).

Re: Pick One: Which Is Your Favourite Mass Effect Game?

Hypnotoad107

ME2. Literally the easiest opinion survey I’ve ever answered. Favorite game of all time. I really liked 3 as well, but the ending did indeed suck. Also, the fetch quests were weird. You eavesdrop on conversations, then go find a heirloom for them. “Hey, I overheard you talking about your family’s sacred heirloom. I came across it in the Horse Head nebula. Here you go.” Garrus and Shep on top of Citadel is one of the all time great scenes. Mordin death was also fantastic (unlike Shep’s).

Re: Bethesda On Xbox Exclusivity: We'll Decide What Makes The Best Sense

Hypnotoad107

@Jacko11 I disagree. I think if they want Game Pass to be Netflix style huge, they HAVE to have exclusives people want to play. Halo an Gears is great, and will drive many Xbox fans to get GAme Pass, but won’t even move the needle on a PlayStation fan. Give a PS fan the option to buy the game on their own console, they’ll just buy it there. That’s how ALL exclusives work. Of course you could release them everywhere and make more money, but by holding them, you drive people to your ecosystem. I always buy both consoles so I can play any games I want. If I could get ALL the games on PS5, I’d just get a PS5 so I didn’t need to buy 2 consoles. I’d save $500. I couldn’t get GAme pass on console anymore, but I would have an extra $500 for video games that I specifically wanted.

Re: It Looks Like Rainbow Six Siege Is Coming To Xbox Game Pass

Hypnotoad107

@Terrin I disagree with it being short term. I think Ubi has gotten all the money they’re going to get out of the vanilla game. You can get the game for next to nothing on sale. This just puts it in the hands of more consumers, which will allow them to sell dlc to more people. Xbox gets to say they have another big title on GP. This probably cost Xbox next to nothing. I think Ubi actually benefits more from the increased exposure than Xbox does from getting the game on GP.

Re: David Cage Admits He Isn't A Fan Of Xbox Having Two Next-Gen Consoles

Hypnotoad107

@Kefka2589 The most important thing to me this gen is that Game Pass is successful. I’ll still play those PS5 exclusives in a couple of years, but when it comes to everyday gaming, I really can’t imagine going back to life before GP. And the more people that subscribe to it, the more Xbox can afford to support it with new studios and titles.
