I think they're mostly for the people who like to take photos of everything that ever happens to them, and then share on twitter/instagram.
I know several people who take a photo of every single meal they ever cook, so they can show it to everyone. This entire category of behaviour seems alien to me.

It's mostly manufactured controversy by games journalists. The battle of Fallujah reportedly involved several war crimes by the US military (in real life). These developers have simply chosen not to include that in the game, for the simple reason that they're depicting the experiences of a handful of soldiers who they've worked with on the game, and those soldiers had nothing to do with the warcrimes, so there's no particular reason they would include it.
Games journos are saying that's unacceptable, and you have to use your game to badmouth the US army (something they're obviously not gonna do, given that they were former soldiers)
