This is my most anticipated game by a long stretch but obviously they have a lot going on and they deserve time and patience from all of us.

I saw it described as a ‘hate crime’ and The Gays™ don’t seem to be liking it at all. I quite like it though, it’s incredibly loud and maximalist but I guess that fits!

I used to not really mind Phil but this is pretty disgusting. Seeing the widespread abuse of employees as a business opportunity is utterly scummy behaviour.

Cancelled my pre-order. I’m unbelievably disappointed in this. STALKER is one of my favourite games of all time and I love the original book and Tarkovsky movie as well.

@NEStalgia Steganography’s pretty cool actually. You can hide messages inside images just by very very slightly shifting bits of the individual pixels’ RGB values and then translate it back into a message on our side.

@Oval_Griffin @101Force That lead-lined glass seems to be a key component so I’m really not sure if they could get around it. To be fair, I’ve got some really great results from the CRT filters on RetroArch these days. You can recreate different sets, from dodgy cheap ones to the proper professional monitors. The composite colours look so much better!

@Oval_Griffin The only problem is that they’re truly awful for the environment, using toxins and such in the underlying technology. Still, I do love the image produced by a good CRT!

Skyrim gets a bad rap but it’s just so massively playable. I’d play Skyrim in space!

Not even close to being like Animal Crossing but a very good game in its own right. This and RF4 show that Xbox has a future for more niche games.

Despite not owning an Xbox, this was a really really strong showing. Plenty to look forward to in the future, plenty coming out soon. Great additions to Game Pass like Yakuza Like A Dragon and Hades and lots coming day 1 in the future. Time will only tell if Sony match it.

Well I’m hyped! Gunplay looks brilliant and it really feels like a true successor to the originals.

@rjc-32 Oh Lord, don’t I know it. Although ‘maths’ has become synonymous with arithmetic, rather than logic, functions and algorithms which are a vital part of mathematics and the most relevant aspects for software development.

@Thaliard Yep, you’ve hit the nail on the head. This is the only way to ensure an actual remaster if they lost the other games’ source code. It’s a shame because Black is a far better game than Sigma but this is where we are.

Hmm, technically the Steam version with fan patches is still better than the Game Pass version though. So if you own the Steam version, just spend 5 minutes researching mods.

I just don’t think this would be good for the industry. There are too many games tied up on each platform for one platform holder to own them. It’ll just result in headaches as they navigate existing deals.

@gollumb82 Iga Swiatek is brilliant, been following her career since she was about 17 as I happened to see her playing in a random tournament on the TV and the fact she was younger than me blew me away. Crazy to see her win a Slam.

@TheFrenchiestFry If they weren’t a scummy company then they wouldn’t have buried the performance issues, essentially lied about the state of the game through their trailers and actively banned reviewers from warning potential customers. They took their payday and they deserve all that’s come their way.

Ehhh, I never found modern shooters as interesting as the ones set in previous points in time. They should do one where the only guns are muskets that take about 4 minutes to reload.

@Gaming365247 I have played it. I just think it’s a bit crap that FFXV was one of the few Final Fantasy games announced for 2020 that actually came to Game Pass and it’s already being removed.

Bit rubbish that FFXV is already leaving given that the rest of the series which was supposed to come last year just hasn’t materialised.

@UltimateOtaku91 It’s also slightly more complicated with the Game Pass thing too. I doubt they’ll be selling too many games on console at all. They’ll get Steam sales however.

Honestly, it makes sense to me. Although Tango seem to me more a Sony sorta dev than MS. Can’t say I’m too pleased about so many devs being tied to the one infrastructure however.

@JayJ I dunno, Final Fantasy VII is older than me by a good few years. I still love it just as much as X and VI. V was also a big surprise for me, I didn’t expect it to be that brilliant.

All I really want is Jet Set Radio Future. The moment that’s playable, I’ll snap up a physical copy for probably an absolute fortune and then rip it for use with Xemu.

Shame it’s not Story of Seasons. These ones are rubbish in comparison.

Beyond hyped for this one, the original games are a highlight of that era of PC gaming. Metro has somewhat sated my appetite, especially the excellent Exodus, but it’s great to see this series back too.

@RedShirtRod Yeah, this isn’t about what was given to consumers, this is about what was shown to investors. The whole “everything is fine, it works ‘surprisingly well’” rhetoric, the lack of any footage at all from the current gen versions etc. They were promised something that wasn’t delivered while CDPR haemorrhaged money on spin and marketing.

Yep, this is more about misleading the investors than an indication of quality. You just can’t lie in order to artificially inflate stock prices, there’s a reason for securities laws.

@UltimateOtaku91 That’s the point, it’s supposed to be uncomfortable. Like Nabokov’s Lolita. It isn’t automatically endorsement by exposing viewers to uncomfortable material. That’s why Cuties has artistic merit, it provides context and reasons for the aforementioned uncomfortable content. Without that, such as mahjong games with inexplicable sexualised drawings of 12 year olds as a reward for winning, it just becomes gratuitous and you can’t really blame people for being annoyed. Think of it this way - you walk up to someone on the street and punch them in the face. Immediately people crowd you demanding to know why you did it. You explain that the person was pickpocketing an old woman and immediately the situation is completely different. If you had kept completely silent however, providing no context, all the viewers would have seen is you punching a guy in the face. That situation appears completely different from the outside. Without a valid and reasonable explanation for material that stretches boundaries, you’ll be subject to the consequences that entails.

@BeautyandtheBeer The absolutely hilarious, completely ironic thing about you bringing up Cuties is that the whole point of the movie is that it’s a critique of media sexualising children. Which a lot of ‘loli culture’ does. Netflix just marketed it completely wrong.

@LtSarge There’s just not an argument to be made defending an age of consent at 13 years old. There just isn’t. This isn’t a difference in culture, people are constantly calling out the Middle East for child marriage. The child sexualisation culture has blatant effects too, Japan has seen record numbers of child abuse cases over the past year. Some things are just not OK which is why you can’t play as rapists in video games or murder children. They are just as illegal as taking photos of children in skimpy clothing. Everyone jumps to the ‘what about violence’ argument which is a separate argument and I wouldn’t say that games that glamorise stone cold murder are exactly helpful either. There’s a reason that games like Hatred run into problems.
