Hopefully Microsoft steps in before the studio goes bankrupt. I guess they would not be too expensive for them and could be the dedicated Killer Instinct team.

Keep exclusives one year on the Xbox platforms and then port it to other consoles:

I DEEPLY miss the times when more publishers made open-world, story driven games like this. I dunno why not every big publisher has at least one of those games in his portfolio anymore. It is such a good genre of gaming.

Once Sony shareholders see the additional money Microsoft makes for porting their games on more platforms, they will up the pressure on leadership.

This is about money after all.

As a true gamer I own PS5 and Series X (Switch too) and my most played console is Series X. I don't get all the drama.

If Microsoft decides to port some Xbox exclusives to other consoles after a certain amount of time (1 year or so), why is it that a big of a deal? More people enjoy the game, devs get more appreciation, company makes more money - a win for everyone.

In the long run, probalby all the console companies will do it, since it's more bucks for shareholders.

I played the original Alone in the Dark on PC/CD and still listen to the soundtrack today from time to time, I never stopped to love it.

Will buy the new game as well, but maybe wait for a sale first... I have time.

I just finished Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth and I am sad it's over. Need a new game to sink my teeth into. Atm considering Avatar or Street Fighter (Beat 'em Up's I always wait for a sale).

My guess they will announce older games (HiFi Rush, Sea of Thieves, maybe Starfield one day etc.) coming to other platforms like Switch and PS5. It won't be day one but after a while like a year or so. They can maximize profits and the Xbox brand will see more acceptance.

I also believe they will still continue to make consoles (and maybe a handheld, since the market has potential).

When the 360 era ended I had over 230 physical games, including a lot of Special / Limited Editions. It used up a lot of space in my "Business room". I sold off most of it on Flea Market and had to argue with ppl. for EUR 10 a game (all in top condition).

Beginning with Xbox One / PS4 I went all digital and don't regret it one bit.

I hope Total Recall is next. That would be so awesome...

He had such an iconic voice. I recognized it instantly in Alan Wake. Max Payne was so long ago but his tremendous voice burnt itself inside my mind.

@MattT3142 Geoff is a Sony fanboy, so no surprises here. Starfield would probably not have won GOTY, but at least it should be a nominee. RE4, a remake GOTY? And Spiderman had to be there of course... lol

@BaldBelper78 IGN is on a crusade against Microsoft, so this rating and blaming new owner MS for a game 3 years in development does not surprise me anymore. It's sad and pathetic, but a pattern in the past year on that site.

I am close to 200 hours in the game and just started NewGame+. I don't regret buying the Constellation Edition. Although the watch was a bit disappointing, the screen is too small for my taste.

Pre-ordered Constellation Edition and paid it in June in biggest retail chain over here, to pick up today on launch day. Took a day off from work and went there a 9am. They haven't received it.

Hopefully I will get it tomorrow from them.

One really big missed opportunity this year was no Remasters. Every year Microsoft should at least announce one remaster from it's huge library. It's a relatively easy way to generate buzz, compared to AAAA titles and you can profit from people's nostalgia.

.) GEARS remaster
.) Halo 3 remaster
.) Fable remaster
.) Blinx Remaster
.) Quake Remaster

...and so on, a sure banger every year. Do it, Phil!

Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, when the backwards compat program was still active, I have frequently put the disc in to check if it's supported.

One day...

It could be so easy. Microsoft just needs to do some remasters (one every year!), do some Remakes of beloved IP, do some completely new IP and dig into the huge IP-catalogue for new iterations on existing franchises. For example

.) Lost Odyssey Remaster
.) Jade Empire Remaster
.) Banjo Remaster + Remake
.) Quake Remaster + Remake
.) Kameo Remaster
.) New IP's from studios who are doing sequel after sequel and want to try something new
.) Cross-Studio IP's like ID working on an action-game in Halo universe or Arkane making a Perfect Dark adventure
.) New entries in existing IP's like Mech Assault, Conker, Killer Instinct, PGR, Sudeki, Ryse etc.
