I disagree with you about Rare. They made some great 360 games, in my opinion. And Sea Of Thieves IS a big hit, not WAS. Obviously, we’ll see about Everwild.

And Microsoft has farmed out their IP. You mentioned Killer Instinct. And we just got a new Battletoads game. And now Perfect Dark.

I get that everyone wants a new Banjo game, but what other IP could they farm out to get everyone excited? I would love to see a new Viva Piñata, but if no studios want to make it & with the quality of the past, then why do it?

I like that Microsoft lets their studios make the games that they want. At least Mattrick is long gone & not making Rare make Kinect games anymore.

True. Microsoft seems to be western-RPG king right now. Maybe EA wants the same for racing games not named Forza or Gran Turismo.

Agreed. The $7.5 billion Microsoft paid seems like a bargain compared to this.

I always loved this for playing Halo on the OG Xbox.

And I remember using this to play COD 2 on the 360 for a big LAN party.

Rare is just fine the way they are. Microsoft forcing them to work on old IPs that they don’t want to work on (especially when most of those people are long gone) is ridiculous.

People who live in the 90’s & think Microsoft “ruined Rare” probably haven’t even played most of their games since the N64. And it’s a tired narrative. 🙄

It was my favorite PS3 game & still think it’s the perfect linear 3rd person, action/adventure game.

Unfortunately, for me, part 3 was a huge letdown.

I agree about Morrowind. It was a great game for it’s time, but has aged quite poorly. It was developed for PC, so it was always clunky on Xbox.

Oblivion came out & was a revelation to me as far as the UI, quests, etc. Obviously, the big jump in visuals help, but it was the fact it was also made with consoles in mind made it less of a chore like Morrowind was.

What other FPS does Microsoft make other than Halo? None. I guess we could count Doom & Wolfenstein now after the purchase goes through.

And this new Perfect Dark isn’t going to be your typical FPS, as the developers have said.

It’s called patience. Microsoft just bought almost all of these studios. And some were already putting out games.

They aren’t going to cancel the Xbox One version. It’s too far along in development at this point.

And just because CD Projekt Red messed up their launch, it doesn’t mean that 343 will do the same.

I refuse to give Wal-Mart money anyways because they are a horrid company.

I have played all the single player Elder Scrolls games & love them all.

But my favorite has always been Oblivion. It was my first game of the HD era that made me go “Wow!” & it remains one of my favorite games of all time.

And that opening music is so incredible. Plus it has Sean Bean, who is one of my favorite actors. Lol.

Uncharted 2 was their best game, by far, in my opinion.

I played the first Last Of Us & thought it was the most overrated game I have ever played.

Switch fans are crazy if they think this new PD will run on the Switch. 😂

They are just starved for games over there that aren’t Nintendo 1st party & some Japanese games that I can barely pronounce. And most of them still live in the 90’s.

So they get salty when they see this Perfect Dark re-boot news. All of their heads would probably explode if Xbox got a new Banjo game. 🤣

After finally finishing Mass Effect: Andromeda, I will now be diving into Rare Replay.

I just finished Mass Effect: Andromeda & it really sucks that we won’t be getting any DLC or a sequel!

I don’t want to be a prick & say any spoilers......but it sucks I won’t get to go save the last remaining.......ugh!!!

Anyone who has played the game will know what I mean. Like I said, I won’t ruin it for people that haven’t played it, but c’mon!!!!!

I absolutely loved Dead Space, so this will be on my radar.

Only multiplayer?

This will be a pass for me. I want an evil dead horror/comedy game, not some online co-op game with Bruce Campbell & bunch of random no names.

I did always like Liara as a character. She was my romantic interest in ME1 & my last interaction with her at the end of ME3 was sooooo good.

I’m not sure if she would be a good protagonist, though. Part of the fun with a ME game is “creating” & crafting a character to what skill set you want to play with. Liara is all about biotics. She had nothing tech-wise on the battlefield, if I remember correctly.

But I guess they could turn her into more of a combat biotic commando type. And she was great with tech outside of combat in the story stuff, obviously.

I agree about Andromeda. I like the game, but it’s not up to the original trilogy’s standards. I just think it had a lot of potential & it was nice to have new set of characters & aliens (even if they weren’t as interesting as the old characters).

I just don’t want them to bring all the old crew back in the new one & just make Mass Effect 4, basically. Hopefully, Andromeda didn’t scare them off of going down a different path.

Ok. So I have a buddy that I play Madden online with. He bought a One X & had his wife (who doesn’t work) stay online pre-order day & find him a Series X while he went to work.

Funny thing is......he only plays Madden. Lol. Oh and he plays some NHL too. And if I switched to PlayStation, he’d switch too because he just wants to play Madden online. He doesn’t play any of Microsoft’s first party games & could care less. I would hardly call him an Xbox fan.

You remind me of him, with one huge exception.....he doesn’t come on to a website to comment saying Xbox franchises are “slipping” when he hasn’t played them.

You see, supporting the console by buying games or investing into the services of said console is actually quite important. I would explain it to you, but there is no point as you clearly wouldn’t understand.

I am a gigantic Mass Effect fan. I have played the original trilogy multiple times on multiple systems, to the point where I was almost an addict.

But even I am not sure if I want to see Liara back in this new game.

I am playing Andromeda right now (almost to the ending) & have been playing it for almost 120 hrs. It’s a good, but flawed game that gets a bad rap. It had so much potential.

And that is where I want to see Mass Effect go. With a new story & new characters. EA & BioWare just showing Liara has me worried that they are just going to go down some “copy the original trilogy” safe route because Andromeda did so poorly.

This game should definitely skip the Xbox One. And I say that as an Xbox One S owner. This game is a visual showcase on PC. Hopefully, Asobo can do the same on XSX.

If you watch the full developer interview video (only about 3-4 minutes long), they drop hints that it will stay in first-person like the classic games.
