@JustinSane oh, I agree that it's a disappointment on all platforms as far as graphics and performance are concerned but the S version is borderline unplayable for most people with it's constant dips to 25fps. As an S owner, I'd put up with potato graphics if it kept to a steady 30fps.
The Digital Foundry review has Series S footage and commentary at the end. It looks just as rough as the Beta did with drops to 25fps, blurry visuals and awful textures. As a Series S owner who doesn’t plan to upgrade beyond a Switch 2 this year, I’lll be giving it a wide berth unless it gets fixed with a future update or drops considerably in price.
The target audience is Xbox One/S owners that are on the fence about getting a Series S. I know a few and the inability to play their Xbox One discs is a considerable factor holding them back. This would deal with that concern.
@S1ayeR74 I love it. It's the opposite of a Switch for better and worse. You can do so many things from emulation to playing AAAs but at the same time it's a bit buggy and unfinished on the software side. Locked down systems are more reliable and systems with more room for tinkering always come with bugs and weird stuff. Because I'm still playing Elden Ring on my Series S I've been playing Vampire Survivors and lots of ROMs on my Deck. I'm quite happy for this to remain as an Indie and emulation machine while I play the bigger games on my Xbox.
I’d give it a 7/10. Enjoyed the London map in a geographic sense but culturally it wasn’t London at all. It felt like a London envisioned by a French Canadian who watched a lot of Guy Richie films and filled it with posh stage school kids with terrible mockney accents. But I did enjoy running about on the rooftops of various landmarks.
I'm glad other people enjoyed it. I was not one of those people. I can't remember viscerally hating a game as much as I hated this one. I accept that this might make me a bad person.
I love my wireless headset and think it was well worth the money. That said, it is a pain in the bum having to make sure my Series S is unplugged when I want to listen to something on my phone or tablet. A way to disable boot up every time I switch them on would be much appreciated.
I seem to be stuck between two dimensions because I found this game profoundly underwhelming (which is almost worse than disappointing, considering what this game was meant to be), but at the same time I somehow put over 200 hours into it.
@russbeer It is mind boggling to see a game earn this much praise and then to see commenters saying “Ten out of ten you say? It sounds really amazing but do I actually have to PAY for it if I want to play it?”
Just played a bit of No Man's Sky on an M1 iPad Pro. It really looks great, no artefacts or banding for me. However, the lag was definitely noticeable, much more so than with GeForce and Stadia. There's a real sense of the button being pressed and then the action happening afterwards.
My Series S is in the office so I often console stream to the living room and it's the other way round, lots of artefacts and banding but not too much lag.
The lag makes a lot of the xcloud games unplayable for me. I'd rather play 720p/30 with minimal lag on an iPad screen than have good 1080/60 with noticeable lag.
@Nightcrawler71 I've always felt smug when a game that I've held off from buying turns up on Game Pass. At the same time it hasn't bothered me in the slightest when a game that I bought ends up on Game Pass. Sometimes I feel genuinely happy knowing more people will play it. I'm weird like that.
Pulled the trigger on Yakuza Like a Dragon after rage-deleting Watchdogs Legion after losing 4 hours of gameplay last night to the save glitch that Ubisoft say has been patched.
Same as everyone else, buy fewer games and dive into that backlog (Gamepass included). It actually helps that I'm not really excited for many of next year's releases on either of the platforms I use (Xbox and Nintendo). Hollow Knight Silksong and (possibly) Breath of the Wild 2 are the only ones that come to mind right now.
I also lost a ton of progress and stopped playing because if it. What really stings is that some of the tasks were incredibly tiresome (Black Hole of Battersea was a joyless slog, as was another task that seemed to consist of an endless drone flight through the air vents of a building). I really didn't want to end up doing these again. Ubisoft can do one.

Damn it! I'm just going to have to make do with playing it on my brand new Steam Deck then. (Let the downvotes rain down on me, mwuh-hahahahahaaaa)

Re: Gen Z Reacts To The Original Xbox, And It’s As Cringe-Inducing As You’d Expect
Bloomin’ young people haven’t got a piggin’ clue!
But enough about those smug, judgemental millennials, I found those Gen Zs very sweet and endearing.
