@AcerbicEuropean Just to add, while it’s never ok to insult people or to make threats, etc, the actual criticism is well warranted. The devs need to listen and stop being so arrogant, blizzard has become know for this, especially since it merged with Activision. They are screwing up even the most basic of stuff and it feels like we are playing patches that should be in internal beta testing.
Essentially the patch made combat feel worse for all classes and progression is now slower, those are the two most important aspects of a ARPG, so yes it’s a big deal.
Everyone does less damage, everyone is more fragile, cooldown reduction was reduced so we have to wait longer to use skills, we gain less experience from a variety of sources, etc.
Especially with the new season coming up the patch means that not only will we have to redo everything we had done before, but it will take longer the second time around because of all the nerfs.
On top of that, one of the five classes was already barely viable for endgame and completely unviable for high level endgame content and they made it even worse, weaker and more fragile.
It’s hard to get a gaming community to agree and rally against something so universally, but blizzard did it with this horrendous patch. I know this is stupid but it genuinely feels like the devs don’t play their own game and they don’t even test basic stuff before sending out the patch.
What a surprise! It’s as if little england is powerless to actually stop any merger of this size. If the US and EU approve/fail to stop something the UK follows, that’s it. Now wait for some token meaningless concession for the uk to save face.
@themightyant The EU is not a continent, I guess you’re still confused even about that. It makes complete sense to look at the European Union (or the single market if one would prefer) since the deal was approved by our regulator for the European Union. A gigantic market when compared to you, but no, it’s not the whole continent, it’s really in the name: a Union of European countries.
But again, you people still don’t understand what the European Union even is, for you it’s something far away, run by strange foreigners who dare to not do what little england tells them to.
And no, english people are not European and you people make that very clear every time you speak about something that involves other countries.
Maybe you’re laughing because it’s so sad, but "it makes you feel better about your place in the world, you’re not like those darn Europeans are you" is absolutely correct and it applies to the very large majority of you.
Keep calm and carry on bottoming out as a country, people and culture, I hear once you do hit the bottom it’s mostly an upwards trajectory from there. Have fun.
@CaptainCluck Oh really? Because what it looks like it that UK regulators are irrelevant and in the end if the two main regulatory jurisdictions, the US and the EU, decide to approve something the UK will either be forced to back track in exchange for a symbolic token to keep what’s left of its dignity or risk the company leaving the market if the company thinks the deal is worth it. So much sovereignty! Are toddlers also sovereign? Because that’s all your regulators and politicians seem to be able to do, throw a tantrum and hope a big boy agrees with them.
@themightyant Sure, 2nd if you ignore the EU market, but I guess that’s the crux of the issue isn’t it? You people always do ignore the giant next door, it makes you feel better about your place in the world, you’re not like those darn Europeans are you?
It won’t be too long before 10 years have passed since the 2016 referendum and you people, even those of you who voted remain, still don’t understand how the world works, how the EU works, and the place of a small island state of the coast of the EU in this world.
Oh no, not a rude awakening for brexit britain! Could the uk maybe just be an island of the coast of the EU with ideas above its station due to nostalgia for the old british empire? Surely not. It would be incredibly funny if it came to that, but hopefully not, for the sake of uk gamers, except the ones who voted for brexit.
10 years doesn’t mean 10 years of full production, it includes creating a AAA game studio and staffing it, which is why they need to make acquisitions if they want to compete now.
From starting a AAA game studio to actually shipping the game it takes around 10 years. We are seeing that with The Initiative studio developing perfect dark, and what is also essentially a new studio to develop the next Fable.
You don’t just get hundreds of highly qualified people knocking on your door on day one to be able to enter full production.
@NEStalgia But my point is that they are using these “EA originals” to generate good press around their brand but keep doing all the same stuff that people hate on the games from their own studios. So “EA Originals” is mostly like an indie shield for them to hide behind. Honestly all I want from EA is for the next BioWare games to be good.
@Kaloudz Aren’t “EA Originals” games that EA helps promote and publishes but that are made by indie developers? One of the points of this program is exactly to generate some good publicity and that’s why they make sure the brand “EA Originals” is front and center every time they talk about these games. Even the name is misleading since it wasn’t EA that came up with anything original and the IPs aren’t owned by them.
Storage is really not an issue for me, a 80GB game takes 10/15mins to download on my internet. I usually like to keep 100 to 200GB free, so at any time I have a few big games downloaded and lots of smaller ones.
If a large game is in my backlog but I know I won’t play it for a while and need the space I add them to a pin list and I’ll download it again when/if I decide to play it.
I think storage only really becomes a problem if your connection is a bit slow or if you are one of those people who feels the need to always keep everything downloaded even if you don’t play the games anymore.
It felt a lot like Diablo Immortal, which in my opinion is not a compliment. But if they’re going for it then I don’t understand the absence of matchmaking for dungeons and strongholds.
The to do list of daily, weekly and seasonal shores that come which with the battle pass system wasn’t in the beta and I’m not looking forward to it.
Also, the map should display the time for the world events in the players timezone, no one wants to have to google that and then convert time zones, just have it in the game.
I only tried the sorcerer class but it didn’t feel very good, not enough mana, not enough damage, the dash ability doesn’t feel good, the abilities don’t have a lot of interaction with each other, and lastly, magic can be literally anything but all they could come up with is the tired shoot ice, fire or lighting.
@Jenkinss I’m playing Diablo 4 too, but it feels very much like Diablo Immortal (which to me is not a good thing) only bigger. Keep in mind all the battle pass stuff is not there yet, but you can already see in some places what will be daily and weekly to do lists of shores associated with that model. It seems like it will be another live service game that “demands” daily shores and being treated like a second job. The premium cosmetics and whatever else they have planned are also not there yet. Once all of that comes together in the final version I’m not sure I will keep playing it for long. This beta made me less excited for the final game than I was.
@EvilSilentFrame I just wanted this to be approved in time for Diablo IV to be on game pass at launch since that game is getting a battle pass and I don’t think full price games should have battle passes and premium cosmetics and micro transactions etc, but there’s no hope of that anymore.
@Snake_V5 If both the EU and the US approve the deal the UK would be “forced” to back down even if it didn’t want to, it doesn’t have nearly enough policial clout to stop something like this and it is no longer able to influence EU decision making from the inside. The UK regulators would just lower their objections and maybe ask for some token concessions to save face, small stuff that Microsoft would basically choose themselves as a way to keep a good relationship with the UK government and regulators, or just say they were satisfied with the same commitments Microsoft has made in other jurisdictions.
They are still hiring but they’re already stating it will be expanded for many years to come. There’s a long list of defunct, dead on arrival games that said exactly the same thing.
