This is the vertical gen coming up.

I've already got a bit of space either side of my TV where I'm planning to put the PS5 and Series X. At the moment my PS4 and Xbox are underneath it, so not sure what I'll do with that space if I move both previous consoles out. Maybe use it for some accessories or something

Crash 2 is the best game in the series by far imo.

Voted Cyberpunk just purely for the sheer scale of it. It's set up to be one of the most important upcoming games.

Crash 4 speaks to me as it's something I've wanted for 20 years though.

Star Wars means nothing to me.

Cool to see this break out into more than just a game. There's definitely potential there.

Still anticipating the DLC

Oooh quite like the sound of this.

It's hard to describe exactly but I just want some fresh new titles that seem polished and look like they're ready to push the industry forward.

It sounds a bit pointless to ask them to exactly copy what Sony have done recently, but something along the lines of a God of War, Horizon, TLOU or Uncharted would be brilliant.

I don't love it, but the gameplay is what I was hoping for so I can't complain too much. And maybe I'll come to love it if the game holds up

Yeah for sure. It would be great to see another platform push the technology further and add competition to the VR market.

SSX Tricky is probably more playable now but man 2K5 was so good at the time. Genuinely felt like watching a tv broadcast at the time

I downloaded Session on a trial the other day. Found it to be pretty poor tbh. Can see why it's still in game preview.

For a physics based skating game, it's just not tight enough and there's very little depth to it.

I wonder when about in 2021 this is planned. They seem quite slow in rolling out xCloud overall, so I'm imagining this upgrade coming at the back end of next year.

It's not a bad thing that they're taking their time though. This is a service they'll absolutely want to get right when they do fully launch it.

A little concerned they might somewhat ruin it with a tacky gimmick but hopefully they've learnt from what worked in the N.Sane Trilogy and can just repeat that gameplay for a brand new title.

Oh for sure. It was already something of an issue when the current gen launched with 500GB as standard, it's definitely gonna come up again here.

Hopefully though transfer speeds between external storage and internal will be quicker and Xbox's solution of custom expansion cards seems like that could be a good fix.

Depends a lot on the game for me but generally I prefer better image quality and resolution over framerate

This seems kinda obvious, does it not? They've been pushing Game Pass as an essential service for a while, would be weird if they left it behind now.

Still nice to see them reiterating their "smart delivery" system again though to hopefully spread the word a bit more.

Even got tricked by the RE3 one!

Horizon, R&C and Demon's Souls are all I needed to see. Those titles probably won't be there for launch or shortly after, but all 3 of those appeal to me more than anything Xbox have shown so far.

Hopefully Xbox can respond well in July. The bar has been raised.

I'm not really sure tbh. I think I like the design of both and they could complement each other well for people that are fortunate enough to get both.

Is probably the One X for me. I didn't get an original Xbox until much later, and while I loved the 360 early on, I did have 2 of the things break on me. More than half of that gen I was pretty much exclusively using a PS3 as well so there's that.

I probably don't get as much use out of it as I should but I really love the One X. I'm always impressed by how quiet it is. The graphical quality of something like RDR2 is notably above what the PS4 Pro can do. And as mentioned a lot the likes of Game Pass and back compat mean there's always something to check out on it.

I still don't see why they'd reveal this thing this year. Just seems like it would undermine the Series X, and if they were gonna have 2 skews you'd think they'd announce that earlier, not just tack one on a few months before release

Lonely Mountains Downhill was a surprise hit for me. It scratches that itch that a Tony Hawk's game would have but it's played at such a relaxing pace that I just find it an absolute joy to jump into even in short spells. There's plenty of challenge as well to keep you coming back for more

I didn't even know this was the rumour. I heard something about Sega that was meant to be happening but never got round to checking out what it was.

The end of 2020 should be focused on introducing the Series X and xCloud, and the Xbox One is still set to be relevant with every new game still coming out on that for a while anyway.

I had little to no interest in Xbox then. I'd had a 360 previously but even with that 95% of my gaming was on PS3 toward the end of that gen just purely for the amount of exclusives Sony had that I preferred to the Xbox games

@TheNewButler Yeah that's a possible reason. I've no problem with them dropping any games anyway fwiw.

The service is still fantastic value even if the biggest titles were only on there for a month or two. They've been advertising it as over 100 games but last time I counted it was over 200 on console alone.

Seems to be more titles than usual dropping out lately. I think it's fine as they're still adding plenty of titles and high quality ones as well.

On the Xbox/PC side of things it's still Streets of Rage 4 for me. I actually bought a fight stick pretty much purely for this and am having a blast with it.

Solid list. 18 is enough. While it would've been great to have more, they're not really as essential as they used to be with the likes of Spotify easy to just load up in the background now

Xbox really need to come out with their equivalent of when PlayStation had the likes of Horizon, Days Gone, God of War etc all lined up.

Reaching that bar would be quite something, but it's possible and should be their aim for sure.

Above all though, just gimme a new Banjo or Conker game already!

Aaaaaaaaaah. We all knew something was coming but it looks even better than I'd hoped!

I already had it so won't be dipping back into Red Dead quite yet. I absolutely recommend it to anyone that's yet to experience it though, especially on the Xbox One X if you've got one. Aside from a top-end PC, it's the best version of the game by far and honestly I think it completely blows the PS4 Pro and Stadia versions out of the water graphics wise. It's a beautiful game regardless, but yeah, it's something special here.

IGN has an exclusive here so that's why they couldn't show it yesterday.

I give it a D. For a "first look at next gen gameplay" it couldn't have really failed much more. Obviously we all know there was hardly any actual gameplay and none of the games looked like they took advantage of the Series X anyway (though I'm sure they may well do come release).

That said, it was still ok. A few games took my interest and I quite enjoy these trailer after trailer type presentations anyway.

I must be one of the few gamers that really doesn't care all that much about framerate. Obviously it's a problem when some games drop to 20/25 fps at times (looking at you Dark Souls and Bloodborne!) but for the most part I'm perfectly fine with 30fps and will even choose it over 60 if it gives me better resolution and graphical quality.

I don't play a great deal of first person shooters though which probably benefit most from the smoother gameplay.
