Re: Phil Spencer Thanks The Fans As Xbox Game Pass Trends On Twitter

@UltimateOtaku91
That's the thing. People are not hyped so much for ONE game but ALL of them coming to the service starting July onwards.
That's what it means to be subscribed. You get all the first party exclusives day one!
If you're hyped for just one game, then you wouldn't be subscribed. You'd just buy it.

I'm literally finishing off Yakuza: LAD now. 2 chapters to go. 40+ hours in. I'd suggest that if you haven't already played it. Superb JRPG with crazy Japanese humour.

Then Doom Eternal next gen upgrade is tomorrow.
A Plague Tale: Innocence next gen upgrade July 6th.
Flight Sim is July 27th.
The Ascent is July 29th.

That's just the next 4 weeks and we haven't even had the full list for the month!

Was having a good laugh seeing the influencers getting involved last night. Even Alanah Pearce, who is now a Sony employee, got in on the act. So that was amusing to see!

Let's be real.
As someone who owns a Series X and PS5, it's a typical case of jealousy.
If PS5 had the same service, I'd be subscribing day one, loving life and so would these fanboys.
Instead, I have to carefully select which exclusive I'm going to pay £70 for. Spoiler warning, I've only bought 2 so far since owning a PS5 at launch, slightly more expensive than 12 months of Game Pass Ultimate at full price.

The ball is now in Sony's court for if they'll have a proper answer to Game Pass, because it's currently THE most expensive console eco-system to invest in.

Re: Bethesda's Redfall Appears To Have Been In Development For Four Years

blinx01

I'm on the fence with this one.
The typical Arkane single player games have always be 9/10 experiences.
The fact this is 4 player co-op scares me that that 'magic' might be lost, but at the same time, I'm also excited to see them working out of their comfort zone.
Just a shame they couldn't show any gameplay or at least in-engine footage like Starfield.

Re: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Begins Roll Out For Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S

@uptownsoul
The difference is if the feature is part of the GDK, it's easy for dev's to use straight away with minimal effort.
If it isn't part of the GDK, then the dev has to do more work to implement the feature.

The point is that EXORStudios probably haven't committed to using the feature on PS5 because they don't know how much time or effort it will take to implement.

@carlos82
DLSS can't be used on console. Only on the supported Nvidia hardware, which Series X/S and PS5 don't use.
So DLSS will be limited to PC (and the Switch Pro if rumours are correct).

Re: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Begins Roll Out For Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S

blinx01

@uptownsoul
PlayStation can have all these features they just don't include them on the PS5 GDK. Same with VRR.
What this means is if devs want to use them they need to implement it themselves.
On the flip side, if it's included in the GDK, it's all in one nice package making it easier for the devs to implement.

So that's why the EXORStudios tweet basically said there's nothing stopping them for using it, but they can't confirm if they will right now.

Re: Halo Infinite's First Multiplayer Season Will Be 'Heroes Of Reach'

blinx01

I think if you own an Xbox, this year it will all be about Halo Infinite, simply because you don't even need Game Pass or Gold, the multiplayer is free to play!
On the other hand, Battlefield and COD will be £70 each on next gen!
Could be a big shift on Xbox this holiday for the most played multiplayer FPS.

@uptownsoul
"Nothing stops us from enabling FSR on PS5. Whether we do it or not is a separate question that we are unable to answer as of right now." - EXORStudios

Based on that quote, it sounds more to me like Xbox have directly added this to their GDK and PS5 haven't at this time?
Don't see why else they would confirm Series X/S usage but not commit to using it for PS5 but say it's possible?

Re: AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Begins Roll Out For Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S

blinx01

@Steel76
That game is coming to PC day and date with PS5 though, so considering it was an AMD sponsored video, they could have simply been speaking about the PC version using FidelityFX Super Resolution.

PS5 technically should be able to use these features, but nothing has ever been said directly from Sony or AMD about it all, which I find very weird.

Re: 343 Industries Is 'Very Committed' To Halo Infinite's Holiday Release, Says Phil Spencer

blinx01

@NEStalgia
Yep. For me, it's all about the marketing and also the financial implications of being a platform holder.
By that, I mean they will get 30% of any digital sales or MTX of the new COD being a platform holder, so why drop a F2P Halo multiplayer the same week, and potentially lower sales for COD on Xbox?
Like Phil Spencer said, they have a 3-4 week window, they just need to know the COD release date and plan around that.

Re: Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Still Wants To 'Do Something' With Killer Instinct

blinx01

I think the Xbox One version didn't catch on that much as it was released before Game Pass and during that weird time where fighting games started doing the F2P portion of a game with the hope people liked it and paid full price.
I think if they did a properly supported Killer Instinct game now with Game Pass so popular, it would stand a much better chance.

Re: Xbox Cloud Gaming's Next-Gen Upgrade Appears To Have Begun

blinx01

@Steel76
For phones or tablets, your Wi-Fi will play a big part.
You need to be on a 5HGz connection and the rest will be down to the quality of your hub and strength of the signal without interference.
For example, I have a BT Smart Hub 2, and it's fine if close to the hub, but if I go to the other end of the house, the 5GHz signal isn't strong enough so lag starts to occur.
Over 2.4GHz, it's unplayable for me.

Re: Xbox Cloud Gaming's Next-Gen Upgrade Appears To Have Begun

Yakuza and Rainbow Six working for me on Series X server blades on the web browser based in the UK here.
Tried a few others like Forza Horizon 4 and Halo MCC but no upgrades there yet.

Makes a huge difference in terms of latency and just not waiting ages for load times is a joy.
Now I can take my laptop up to bed at night and carry on playing Yakuza Like a Dragon at 60FPS!

Re: EA To Reportedly Announce The Revival Of An Established IP This July

blinx01

I'd love it to be Dead Space, but they shut down the studio that made them and EA Motive Studios has only made one game, Star Wars Squadrons, which was a budget game.
A remaster would be possible, but I wouldn't trust them to make a new entry in the series.

The news could also be about the remaster of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which Aspyr Media is apparently working on and EA will publish.

Re: Square Enix: 'Putting Outriders On Xbox Game Pass Worked In Our Favour'

blinx01

@lostfields
From what Phil Spencer has said in interviews, the deals vary between games and publishers.

  • Up front payment of a set amount
  • On going payments based on usage and monetization

@uptownsoul
Exactly. Xbox has Halo Infinite, so why pay crazy money to put a competing game in the service?
I think they just wanted the marketing deal as Sony have COD, the direct rival.

Re: It's Official, Microsoft Is Bringing Next-Gen Games To Xbox One Via The Cloud

blinx01

@Snake_V5
Why are you so upset?
The future of gaming is not locking people to a plastic box, but giving people options and reaching a MUCH larger audience than possible traditionally.
PC gaming for example absolutely trounces consoles. Mobile gaming absolutely trounces consoles.
Now Xbox is on ALL those platforms, be it a native experience through consoles and PC, or cloud gaming with mobiles/tablets and soon Smart TVs.
Obviously cloud gaming is never going to replicate a native experience any time soon, but the option is there for anyone interested in that.
