We've known for a while that Microsoft has been planning to upgrade Xbox Cloud Gaming servers from Xbox One consoles to Series X consoles in the near future, and it looks like that process has begun slowly rolling out to the public.
As highlighted by The Verge's Tom Warren, some games on the browser-based version of Xbox Cloud Gaming are now showcasing options like 120 frames per-second, which are only available on Xbox Series X and S.
It doesn't seem like the official Android app has received any of these updates yet, however, and games such as Forza Horizon 4 are still said to be running via Xbox One consoles across the board for the time being.
In a statement to The Verge, Microsoft simply advised it will "have more to share soon" on the matter, so hopefully we'll all be able to benefit from improved visuals, faster loading times and maybe even reduced latency in the near future.
Have you noticed these changes with Xbox Cloud Gaming recently? Let us know down in the comments below.

That's great, now you don't have to own XSX console to enjoy current-gen Xbox gaming experience. Doesn't apply to third world country people like me though ... at least not yet.
Yakuza and Rainbow Six working for me on Series X server blades on the web browser based in the UK here.
Tried a few others like Forza Horizon 4 and Halo MCC but no upgrades there yet.
Makes a huge difference in terms of latency and just not waiting ages for load times is a joy.
Now I can take my laptop up to bed at night and carry on playing Yakuza Like a Dragon at 60FPS!
I just got a kishi today, so I'll give it a whirl a little later.
@BrilliantBill I read that one of the reasons Xbox hasn’t been producing as fast as PS5 is exactly this. I think they went this route, so that anyone with an XB1 will be able to partake in next gen gaming using xcloud. That’s reaching a possible 50 million gamers instead of 5 million if they went the console route. That’s my assumption, anyway.
@BrilliantBill
Traditional business sense that would be wiser but when X|S exclusive games like Redfall release, you want the service to be able to stream them. Sure that's a year or two out but you gotta be ready.
@BrilliantBill It’s the Azure team who has designed the Xbox Series consoles and the new server blades have good encoding hardware (faster than 8 XB1 CPUs I think).
Wonderful news, really itching to try the PC version, hopefully we don't have to wait too long.
@Steel76
For phones or tablets, your Wi-Fi will play a big part.
You need to be on a 5HGz connection and the rest will be down to the quality of your hub and strength of the signal without interference.
For example, I have a BT Smart Hub 2, and it's fine if close to the hub, but if I go to the other end of the house, the 5GHz signal isn't strong enough so lag starts to occur.
Over 2.4GHz, it's unplayable for me.
@Snake_V5 see It won’t be too long before the switch happens then you’ll be able to play through cloud.
I tried Yooka Impossible Lair on cloud with touch controls and fogot how astonishingly terrible the game was on Switch due to loading times.....xCloud reminded me. This is a much needed upgrade!
Subscribed to Game Pass just so I could try out the exclusives since I don't own an Xbox, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed with xCloud!
I've mostly been playing Forza Horizon 4 (on my tablet with my PS4 controller) and it seems to run great. Once or twice every hour I'll receive a brief instance of lag (always the same thing, with the image quickly skipping 3-4 times, so I'm guessing some irregularity in our Wi-Fi), but otherwise it runs buttery smooth, controls seem responsive, and image looks clean.
Any advance on using my iPhone and Backbone controller with a 'special invite' to the beta?
Wow! What a massive upgrade. Just tried a couple of game from my browser and they load superfast now. And the picture quality is fantastic with a very low latency.
