Re: 343 'Investigating' Achievement Delays In Halo Infinite

SteveButler2210

Not sure if it was just the network being under some real strain with everyone playing, but I had a point last night where achievements just stopped unlocking in any game (3 in Unpacking and 3 in Halo failed to pop).

Went back this morning and was able to force most of them (across both games) to trigger by completing the requirements again. Still missing the achievement for completing the first mission of Halo, but everything else seems OK this morning. Fingers crossed it'll just show up randomly some time soon!

Re: Another Ten Games Will Leave Xbox Game Pass Soon (October 31)

@Cherip-the-Ripper @MegaWatts seconding the Eastshade recommendation—played through it earlier in the year and really enjoyed it. Won't be for everyone, but I imagine it'll click (or not) fairly quickly for most people, so worth trying for sure to see how you get on! One of the most relaxing things I've played this year.

Re: Hades For Xbox: How To Fix 'Achievements Not Unlocking' Issue

SteveButler2210

Interesting that some players are having to full restart. I have been affected by the issue a few times now, but quitting and re-opening the game has been enough to fix it for me. Frustrating, but not the end of the world, and kudos to the team at Supergiant for responding within 15 mins when I tweeted at them asking for advice. Here's hoping they can get it fixed soon!

Re: Xbox Exec Explains Why Quick Resume Isn't Always Available For New Releases

SteveButler2210

Nice! The main thing I'd love to see them fix with Quick Resume is how it is broken with some in-game timers. No idea if it's doable, as I expect the problem is more complicated than it seems at a glance, and probably requires per-game implementation, but it's frustrating having to save and quit some games to prevent the playtime counters ticking up (Lost Odyssey is the main one that springs to mind, but I'm sure I saw it in something else more recent, too).

Re: How To Install Microsoft Flight Simulator's World Updates On Xbox

As mentioned on the other article, worth noting here that if quick resume fails (or you quit the game manually for whatever reason), the downloads don't continue in the background (makes sense) OR start automatically when you re-open the game - you'll need to jump into the menu and re-start them manually when you open it back up.

Re: PSA: Microsoft Flight Simulator Has An Immediate 27GB Update For Xbox Series X, Series S

SteveButler2210

@Talkshowhost (and PSA for everyone else reading) I've checked this morning and the World Update packs don't appear to continue downloading while the console is in rest mode. In my case, this is because the game wasn't placed in quick resume, and had quit instead - if quick resume works for you then I guess you might get lucky!

Even less intuitively, the downloads had not re-started automatically when I re-opened the client - I had to go back through the menus and manually re-start all five downloads.

I've now settled for just leaving the console turned on all morning with the game running and hoping the downloads finish by lunch!

Loving the game itself so far (did a few discovery flights and the first leg of a bush trip last night), but man did they really not go out of their way to make it easy to get everything installed on console…

@InterceptorAlpha I've been playing for a few months on and off now, on series x, and I've never had any issues with FPS, crashing, etc! And the loading is always fairly quick, too. Not PS5 level, but perfectly respectable for an online experience.

In fact, I came to the comments to specifically shout out how impressed I've been with how polished the experience I've had with the game has been. Weird that you've had so many issues with it! The others I play with are all on PC, so I wonder if that makes any sort of difference. Odd.
