Fantastic updates from Xbox, might be time for me to pick up a Series X at last.

Very excited for this, but that was a crap trailer - something slower that shows off HDR and 4k would have been fantastic. Ah well, not long to go until I try it anyway!

I wasn't expecting a 9/10 blockbuster and I'm still tempted to give it a go. In all honesty, generic gameplay and easier puzzles kinda makes it more appealing somehow.

That's a real shame but have to admit it isn't my kind of game in the slightest. Super excited for Hellblade and the other games though!

Bizarre decision. Makes me wonder if Game Pass will be getting a hike too. Considering that Game Pass would be one of the primary reasons for me picking up a Series X in the future, I really hope that's not the case.

Happy birthday X360! Can't believe it's been 15 years...yikes. I waited until the Elite model was out to buy mine, but it was a great console.

Those are lovely, definitely makes up for the samey UI. Suits the clean hardware and UI design.

Nice review, but I'm hanging on to see a Series S review as well as I think I might be tempted to grab that instead.

2 was genre-defining for me. Loved the first one but 2 absolutely blew me away at the time and no other game came close. Like any great sci-fi series #2 was the gritty, intensified sequel that was almost impossible to follow. Can't wait to play that one again in particular.

Absolutely love Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and Day of the Tentacle! Great selection.

I like the PS5 and Series S designs personally. The Series X is OK but a little...sterile, I guess? It's my least favourite out of the three but I think they're all good!

That's how I see Xbox eventually transitioning from a product to a service - they could easily dominate that space if they got the timing and implementation right.

That's really cool, always impressed when MS adds stuff like this. More options are always welcome.

Very excited for both consoles at the moment. The only criticism I really have for Xbox is that at launch, it feels like more of an iterative improvement, with "tweaked" games rather than full-on next-gen experiences. But there's plenty of titles on the way that will make that up, like Fable and Hellblade. PS5 is still mostly in that camp too but my most anticipated game is Demon's Souls which looks incredible and makes up for that somewhat.

Hardware wise MS has knocked it out of the park though, at the very, very least I'll be picking up a Series S with that Shock Blue controller. Gorgeous.

I'd love to know the numbers for both platforms, but I don't think we'll ever get them.

Love both the Xbox designs, MS nailed it this time around for sure. I do like the PS5 design as well, much more interesting than any PS before it, and glad it's a bit different and not trying to do the same kind of thing as Xbox. The only thing is that I'm not a fan of the PS5 when it's lying horizontally, looks much better standing upright like a gaudy PC tower.

As many have said I think it's pretty (well, extremely) unlikely, but I'd certainly be pretty excitied if it turned out to be true! Absolutely love that Shock Blue controller for sure. If/when I get an Xbox I'll absolutely be getting one of those with it.

Exciting times! Good to see MS managed to get pre-orders a bit more organized than Sony at least. Surprised to still see open pre-orders for the Series S on Amazon. I'm not pre-ordering just yet, in no rush for my next console so just enjoying the hype for both new platforms at the moment.

I really, really hope so. Seems a bit weird not to announce for next gen system at this rate though, so it'll be interesting to see if it's launching on those natively or via backwards compatibility.

Very, very impressive. Game Pass is setting the standard for game subscription services, absolutely no doubt about that. Wow.

At the moment, probably a Series S. PS5 will be my main console as the exclusives are much more my kind of games, but I'd love to have an Xbox as well and the announcements today make that easier and more affordable than ever. Bravo MS.

About what I expected, what's blown me away is the All Access + Ultimate Pass + EA Access. Astoundingly good value for money. I'm still more of a PS fan in general, but MS is absolutely smashing it with these announcements. Very tempted to pick up a Series S with the 2 year pass deal.

The only disappointment is that we couldn't enjoy all of this at a big set of E3 conferences this year. It finally feels like all the exciting stuff is being revealed but I definitely prefer the big annual blowout rather than the drip feed of info we've had this summer.

No, the logo would look terrible. Design is fine as it is.

Very smart move from MS. For those that aren't bothered about 4k - and there's a LOT of parents and budget-conscious buyers out there - it's a machine that plays the latest games at a bargain price.

Personally, I'm probably going to be buying a PS5 as the games just appeal to me a bit more, but this gives me a perfect way to play the likes of Fable, Hellblade and Forza, so I'm almost certainly going to pick one up eventually.

I like them both, but I love minimalist designs so the black one just edges it for me.

Looking forward to it and hopefully watching live if work isn't too bad today. I get that Halo is a big deal but I only played the first one and went with PS4 rather than XBO last gen, so hoping for a few suprises that will tempt me back over. A new Fable would be amazing for sure.

Have to admit I was disappointed. Some interesting looking games but nothing that really screamed next gen at me. Assassin’s Creed should have been a high note to end on but the trailer was awfully cut, almost like it was hiding the gameplay rather than showing it off. I’m still excited for the game but I hoped to see a lot more of it than we did today.

Obviously it all comes down to games at the end of the day, but the machine itself sounds very impressive indeed and I'm enjoying everything that MS is coming out with recently. Things are getting exciting, looking forward to seeing what Sony has in store also.
