Re: Bethesda Shares New Concept Art For Starfield

ISD1982

@Fenbops I don't think FO4 deserves the amount of criticism it received. The biggest issue for me was having a voice for the main character which very likely affected the dialogue choices/branching.

Hopefully they are taking their time and getting this right. I'd be happy to wait longer and get something that resembles a complete game vs something that looks like it's been thrown together by a developer for a demo and then the team leads decided that they'd just roll with it.

Re: Bethesda And Xbox Shut Down Speculation About 'Starfield Coming To PS5' (Again)

ISD1982

Ended up biting the bullet (and also getting a bit of luck) and bought a Series X, so i'm not too concerned now that this isn't coming to the PS5. I bought a Series S to play anything that wasn't PS5 bound, but a game like Starfield would be massively limited on the Series S compared to the X. Thought that i'd probably save money in the long run by getting an X now and selling the S while it's still worth £200+ second hand, than waiting a year and getting less.

Re: Microsoft Has Discounted The Xbox Series X|S 1TB Storage Card In The UK

ISD1982

@gollumb82 I use internal for newer and optimised games, I have a USB C SSD that I use for playing non optimised games/older games and a HDD plugged in for everything else (storage mainly, not playing)

I tend to just download games I think I might play at some point and chuck it on the 5Tb HDD, and when I want to play i i'll shift it to either the Internal or the external SSD, depending.

I'd say until there were a load of huge games that require internal storage, there's no real need for it yet.

Re: Phil Spencer: Xbox Is Building More Narrative-Driven Games Than Ever Before

ISD1982

@NEStalgia Really can't agree with most of that.

Uncharted 1 was a fantastic game, and the series as a whole is brilliant.

And you are really doing TLOU a massive disservice. There's a massive difference between watching a movie and playing in a game that has a good storyline akin to a movie. You are part of it. You're playing the main characters, you're invested in them in a way that a movie can never capture. The gameplay, in my opinion anyways (and a lot of others considering the sales/reviews etc), was pretty tight too.

All opinions of course and you're entitled to yours, even if we disagree haha

I have played quite a number of games that are just simply animations hidden behind the odd button press. I don't feel that the above two are quite in that area though.

I played through FF9 not that long ago and felt that it was very much hand holding for the majority of the first few hours, so it's nothing new.

Re: Xbox Announces Cloud Gaming Streaming Sticks, TV Integration

ISD1982

That's great for people with decent internet, which in a lot of the UK is still not as many people as it should be (and i assume elsewhere too). I'd be all in for this if I had at least 100Mb Fibre, rather than averaging around 20Mb!

What I don't want to happen is for offline gaming to disappear and you never own your games. It's already almost that way with TV, with Netflix, Prime, Disney etc etc and Music with Spotify, Amazon Music, Youtube Music etc.

Re: It Looks Like Oddworld: Soulstorm Is Making Its Way To Xbox

ISD1982

@papahefe so nothing specifically about Oddworld. Gotcha.

Stop being a hypocrite. "Sony fanboys are the worst" yet all you've done here is "stir the pot", as you've put it, by trying to one up them with this "amazing seeing them backpedal" and "one less exclusive to brag about" etc.

Don't let it bother you. You don't have to dislike one because you have the other.

Re: Is It Worth Buying An Xbox One In 2021?

ISD1982

I was planning on getting one when the next gen consoles were out, to catch up on Xbox exclusives i'd missed over the years, but when I found out the price of the Series S, it didn't make sense to go any other direction than get the Series S.

Re: These 20 Games Are Now Available With Xbox Game Pass (March 12)

ISD1982

@TuckNorris85 haha yeah, its typical really.

I bought 12 months gold and was hoping to use the £1 Game Pass conversion, but doesn't seem to work. So ended up with £10.99 and says it will be that next month, so think I might just leave Game Pass till I have completed the games I already have and then sign in at a later date. Not paying £15 a month on top of the PS+ that i've got too!

Re: Metro Exodus Dev Predicts Xbox Series S 'Challenges' For Future Titles

ISD1982

I bought my xbox series s to compliment my PS5, so this isn't a huge shock or issue. I've never really been a massive fan of the xbox exclusive games, that's where PLaystation have trumped it. I do love that the xbox consoles have been backward compatible though, and that's basically why I bought one. So I could play all those games that my PS4/PS5 couldn't, like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect (originals, the remake/remastered version will obviously be PS5 compatible), Splinter cell games and older Elder Scrolls games.

Couple that with GamePass, the ability to play next gen games, even at a lower performance and I think it's great value for money.

Re: Soapbox: Xbox, Can We Please Stop Having Games With Random Achievement Numbers

ISD1982

@NEStalgia Same. If it's not something you can generally do in a normal run through, i'm not interested. It's not like you gain anything from the achievement either, like a better weapon or an upgrade or whatever. Just some numbers and a digital trophy that i'll never look at again.

I've far too many games to play without worrying about trying to 100% each one especially if it's a long game and i'm already getting to the point where I just want the damn thing to finish.
