@Onett Agree with this. Didn’t mention it in the review, but Even does feel very heavy to control. If there’s a sequel, I would like to see them do something more with the movement. Maybe some platforming would be cool!
@K1LLEGAL Quite often PlayStation codes are sent out for titles, with Xbox's coming weeks in advance. I'm not entirely sure why, but I suspect it's something to do with the game's been available to download first on that system. Sometimes Xbox are sent out at the same time, but more often than not it's usually PlayStation.
As an Xbox site, we don't feel it's fair to review the game on a different platform, just on the off chance there are any console specific bugs.
Sorry I couldn't give you a more definitive answer!
@xMightyMatt14x You'll probably die a few times, but it's pretty easy to cheese most of the harder fights as long as you take your time. You can run in, attack, then dash back to fire ranged attacks if you want to make it a bit easier. 🙂
@Roqka It’s really not bad at all. My fiancé is playing it who is a very casual gamer, and while she’s died a few times on bosses, she’s always managed to push through!
@PhhhCough I actually haven’t played Tunic yet so I’m not sure, but they seem to be great companion pieces to one another. Tunic seems more traditional Zelda while this embodies elements of Hollow Knight and Dark Souls. It all depends which it sounds like you’ll gravitate more towards.
@mousieone My thoughts exactly! It has some pretty terrible pacing at points - especially when you’ve gotta sit through 4+ Bond Episodes between phases. But like you said, I hope it gets another entry, as there’s definitely something there.
@RBRTMNZ Personally I really enjoyed the variety it presents you and how enemies demand different tactics. For example, the armoured enemies that may require you to use the duplicate power and hurl boxes at before moving to pyrokinesis when they're vulnerable. I felt by the end of the game it was throwing some many different variations at me and demanding a lot.
It's not for everyone, for sure, but I do feel there's something it it that clicked for me personally! 🙂
I think, ultimately, Psychonauts 2 is a game that’s being built for the fans. Starting as a Kickstarter and seeing it now, you can see Double Fine have created the game they wanted to make. I think we’ll see some engagement with the game rise after it comes into everyone’s radar again after E3, but unfortunately, I don’t think it’ll hit the same dizzying levels as Ratchet - even with it’s Game Pass inclusion, and if it reviews well.
@Nightcrawler71 That's the best mentality to have. At the end of the day, everyone responds to games differently and you may find tons more enjoyment that other people have. It's always worth trying new titles, as you may find your own underrated gem!
@PhhhCough Yep! I'd been jumping at the chance to review it, write about it, and more. It was one of my most anticipated games of the year which I originally had pre-ordered - which makes the disappointment harder.
@Darthroseman Oh definitely! It’s crazy how they made so many iterations for each entry. I have a soft spot for the PC versions in particular, but they’re so hard to track down these days.
@VenomousAlbino Couldn’t have put it better myself, haha. We’ve actually managed to slowly deter our 4 year old away from it as it has some “questionable” morals, lol.
@SegataSanshiro Fully agree. All joking aside, this publisher puts out some really good children’s games that we very rarely get these days, and I’d be lying if I said I haven’t enjoyed a few of their titles!
