Been playing Banjo-Kazooie on Switch (for the umpteenth time taking N64 and XBOX into account) and I really miss when Rare made excellent single player games.
I’m sure Game Pass works for some developers and not for others, but given that he hasn’t had a conversation with MS about how they’d pay him for any of his games he’s not really the best person to be talking about it. Though his comments on how it could affect creativity may turn out to be true...Epic are in a similar position, offering free games on the Epic Store on PC every week, that they must be paying the devs for “lost sales”. But I love Game Pass due to giving me access to games I wouldn’t necessarily have paid for individually, such as Donut County (which was fairly short but I really enjoyed my time with it).
@everynowandben I’ve grabbed it since it’s on sale now, but not playing it till it’s patched. The devs have said on Twitter that it should be updated this month. But they also said a performance patch would be out before the end of last year, and it’s not appeared yet..,
@Enigk I agree with this, and antifyre’s suggestion above, that there needs to be some visibility or else we can’t rely on it and could easily lose progress thought not saving.
@JayJ Yes, they’re useful at the time of release, but can be less so as time goes by. And no publication/website has the resources to devote to updating reviews constantly.
If I didn’t already have Virtua Racing on Switch, I’d be more tempted by this. Even with the current bugs, it sounds great, but I’m probably going to wait for Hotshot Racing which looks excellent.
If it is going to take that long, that’s a hell of a lot of wages they’ll being paying Rockstar North without any new income (although GTA V online will probably keep them going, I’m sure!).
I wonder if it’ll be like RDR2 where they use other Rockstar studios to complete it, in which case it’ll be an absolutely immense, cinematic experience.
Never took the time to get into RDR2 when it was released but since then have upgraded to an Xbox One X and a better TV so looking forward to giving it another go.
Can’t see it on the Game Pass app in the UK to pre-download though, am I just not looking in the right place?
I don’t mind games which start off a bit bare and get updated over time to add lots of content (like No Man’s Sky) but I do prefer games that can be played without expecting me to be social (which has put me off Sea of Thieves).

Re: All Optimised For Xbox Series X|S Games Out Now
Observer System Redux doesn’t actually offer ray tracing on Series X yet, the developer is hoping to add it sometime this month...

Re: NBA 2K21 Is The Latest Game To Include Unskippable Ads
It’s the fact they drop these ads in a month or so after launch, avoiding negative comments in reviews. That’s really sneaky and needs to stop.
