Re: Is Microsoft Looking To Break The Console Cycle?

VanillaLake

After reading the interesting comments on this thread, I don't want this to happen now. Also, I don't think Microsoft is doing it this generation, I think they will try to make the most of Xbox One power without Kinect sucking RAM, CPU and GPU. They said it would take some time to see it because of the long time it takes to develop a game, but they might reach the 1080p goal eventually.

Re: Xbox One Finally Gets Ability To Purchase Backward Compatible Games From the Console

VanillaLake

This is great for the users that never had an Xbox 360, like me.

@Utena-mobile Microsoft has said a lot of times that they want to make backwards compatible every 360 game, but they need the publisher's permission. Actually, it's the most repeated answer on the official Xbox One backwards compatible FAQ. People assume it's up to Microsoft but it's not, we have to make requests to the publishers! For example, if you want Final Fantasy games, you have to contact or twit or whatever Square Enix.

If you want a game and you don't know the publisher you can check here:

www.wikipedia.org

I want the Fatal Frame/Project Zero! (although it is an Xbox game).

Re: Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 4/5/6 for Xbox One

VanillaLake

@wiggleronacid Revelations 1 is not one of the best if you ask me, so if you liked it you should try the others, 0 and 1 are available on Xbox One and have been remastered and you can also get Revelations 2 which is one of the few games that have better performance on Xbox One than on PS4! You can get RE0 and RE1 physical or digital. Also, you can choose between tank and modern control.

@TwilightOniAngel I had forgotten that Code Veronica was remastered last generation (I only had the Wii last gen) so that's great news because Capcom may release Code Veronica after 4 (they are going backwards). RE3 has never been remastered, so that's the only one left now. Most probably Capcom will remaster 3 now (last time seen on GameCube!). About Revelations 1, it was not ported to last gen but it launched last gen. I have it on Wii U so it's fine, but the frame rate of the Wii U version is horrible.

Re: Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 4/5/6 for Xbox One

VanillaLake

@Utena-mobile RE4 is a bit more action that the previous games, but I think it's scary too, specially some parts that I'm not going to spoil. That was the first RE game I've ever played and it impressed me and also scared me. The gameplay is great, too.

EDIT: By the way, my favourite RE game is Resident Evil Remake.

Re: Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 4/5/6 for Xbox One

VanillaLake

@TwilightOniAngel I hope so. They are already remaking RE2. The only two main RE games that have not been remade are RE3 and Code Veronica. Code Veronica bits look awesome on Darkside Chronicles, it's an original and weird story that I'd love to see coming back. As you've already said, we would have all main RE games on Xbox One/PS4, except for Revelations 1 which is last gen/Wii U and could be easily ported to Xbox One/PS4.

Re: Capcom Confirms Resident Evil 4/5/6 for Xbox One

VanillaLake

About a physical release, it doesn't look like Capcom is going to release a disc version. RE5 and RE6 are last generation games, and most probably Capcom is releasing the HD version of 4 and all the DLC of RE5 and RE6. All that data won't fit in one Blu-ray disc (and I don't think they are releasing a multiple disc bundle), it's not like 0 and 1 Remaster (Origins Collection) that are around 10-15GB each.

I will get the three of them, and I hope to see a visual upgrade on them, better resolution and frame rate would be enough, but if they can improve lighting and shadows that would be great.

Hopefully, Resident Evil 7 will be survival horror again. Umbrella Corps can be a simple shooter if they want.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 0 (Xbox One)

VanillaLake

@SuperKMx I don't think you are doing this review writer a favour by being so annoyed and intolerant at fair and respectful criticism by a humble reader. This is not the best way to get good feedback on the comments section either. This makes me believe you would be happy if I was faking recognition, that I won't do. It's funny that you keep on posting against me because of my opinion and don't say anything regarding KelticDevil's insults. Let me guess, it's fine to insult somebody here if the victim is saying that a review on your website is not perfect. Good, do as you like, but don't call this a discussion thread and warn people that they might be attacked if their comments are not praise. I'm not a blind fan, I don't care about this review score, which is quite high, I don't care much about reviews anyway, but I know Resident Evil Zero enough to know that the description this review makes of the game is very poor, to say the least.

@KelticDevil To be absolutely fair, the only one insulting here is you. I'll post wherever I feel like, not where you tell me to do (I didn't reply earlier because I have other things in my life). If I think something's good, I'll say it, and I have. If I think something's not good, I'll say it too, not needing to insult anybody. On the contrary, you need to. And yet you feel like a hero saving this website. Hilarious.

@Anthinator I didn't say that stating your opinion is inaccurate, so what's silly is your answer. When you write a review, of course you express opinions, but some of the things you said are wrong. Again, if you say that the files you find in RE0 are not explaining anything about the story of Resident Evil, you're wrong or you haven't read those files. Again, if you say RE0 is the RE game that scares players the least and you think you're right, then the rest of the reviews are wrong, and I don't believe that. Yes, I read this review because I was expecting more details about this remastered version. I didn't read it because I wanted all PureXbox staff to attack me just because I think that the review is honestly bad. About the score, once again, I don't care. I was joking from the beginning saying that I'd give it a 9 because I'm a fan. And it's because I'm a fan that I know the game very well and I know your review is not meaningful in any way.

This is my last comment here, I really have lots of things to do, so don't think I'm scared or I can't back me up. My comments have been cut to distort them (check my last comment for details about that), I was joking about the score (check my first comment for details about that) and I have been insulted by a person here and nobody says a thing, so I won't reply any more. It's very sad that you can't accept criticism on a discussion thread. In the future, if I think that a text is good, I'll say it, and if I think that it's not good I'll say it too.

@santaglause Definitely! Disaster has lots of flaws, but it's a great game anyway.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 0 (Xbox One)

VanillaLake

@SuperKMx There are lots of parts that are not correct, and I won't change my mind. You don't have to change anything on this review because of me.

One example: "For the most part, RE 0 tells a fairly consistent narrative but we can't honestly say that it's a memorable one. We don't believe that there's anything here that completely offers any satisfactory answer to all the weird happenings in this zombie universe". This is absolutely incorrect, because it's not an opinion. Zero has a lot of texts explaining lots of things, same as Resident Evil Remake. And they make sense.

"t it does result in RE 0 being one of the least scariest entries in the series": This is not true, either. It's not one of the least scariest entries in the series.

I could keep on quoting but I think that's enough to back me up. I don't expect anyone to change the review, but it's not a good one.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 0 (Xbox One)

VanillaLake

@SuperKMx Because of the only part of my comment that you did not quote: "It's really quite the opposite, this story adds a lot to the "original" Resident Evil story". This is one of my points, but I could quote lots of parts of this review that are not correct. It's about the text, not the score. The score doesn't mean anything on its own.

@SuperKMx "On PS4, it's averaging 7.2 from 16 reviews. You may be alone in thinking it deserves a 9 or 10". Again, it's not about the score. I already said that the reason I'd give it a 9 is because I'm a Resident Evil fan, but that doesn't change the fact that this review text is not relevant.

@Utena-mobile There are some games that are not highly rated and I enjoy, too.

Re: Review: Resident Evil 0 (Xbox One)

VanillaLake

@cyphid Well, Resident Evil Remake is definitely the best game in the series, if you ask me. However, Resident Evil Zero stands out. Yeah, I'd give it a 9, and I really hope the series goes back to its survival horror origins.

I got both games on GameCube (1 and 0) and I'm going to get the Origins Collection as soon as possible, because I really enjoy classic Resident Evil games. Remember, Capcom is remaking 2!

Re: Microsoft's Own Cloud Tech Could One Day Power PS4 Exclusives

VanillaLake

I don't know if cloud computing can be the near future of console gaming, that would make Internet connection mandatory and we know not all gamers have that possibility all the time and, if they do, it's not always a good connection, even if it's a wired connection.

The two reasons why Xbox One was not as successful as PS4 when both launched are Kinect and the always-connected concept that was tied to Xbox One in the beginning. PS4 has been a hit since the beginning, but Xbox One is selling well now. Since Kinect is out of the bundles and Microsoft started including games in them, 1TB hard disc drives and even elite controllers, Xbox One started being quite successful. And now everybody knows they can play Xbox One offline or with poor Internet connections.

Even for a die-hard Sony fan, it's not good that Xbox One fails, I think last generation was great for all gamers because PS3 and Xbox 360 sold almost the same units. I would love to see the same situation this generation. Both Sony and Microsoft would be cruel if they were alone.

Re: Original Xbox Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Still a Possibility But 'Very Challenging'

VanillaLake

@BAMozzy @stylon Yes, with a good emulator that upscales and applies a few filters the only hard work is to make the emulator, and then any game can run on it. What you BAMozzy suggested takes a lot of time and resources that developers are not willing to waste not knowing how many people will double the experience or try that "retro" game for the first time. Micro$oft has enough money to pay talented people to create an Xbox emulator, that would make the XOne even more popular, as the 360 compatibility did.

Re: Resident Evil 6 Reportedly Shambling Towards Xbox One

VanillaLake

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi I don't know if you are aware of all that Resident Evil is or not, but if you play the main games (RE0, RE, RE2, RE3, Code Veronica, 4 and 5, let's leave 6 out) and read all the archives and stories then it's fascinating, and all zombies and monsters make a sense, there is some logic within Resident Evil. It's not like you wake up on a devastated city and everybody is a zombie, like most films and games about zombies. There's a long story that started in the 60s in Resident Evil's case, the more you read and play, the more you like it.

Re: Microsoft Takes Swing At Sony With New Backwards Compatibility Advert, Hits Nothing But Air

VanillaLake

@A_BabyRed_Yoshi LOL I think it's wax (just a little bit) and hairdryer, that's how you do that.

I think Xbox One is a much better product now than when it launched. On the other side, PS4 is a bit stuck because of the PlayStation Now thing, which won't work well in Europe and is annoying users (including myself). I don't think it's a bad move to be proud about what they have achieved, but misleading information is a problem (as stated by Ken Barnes).

Re: First 104 Xbox 360 Titles to Support Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Announced

VanillaLake

@Utena-mobile I couldn't agree more. PlayStation Now is not for me either. I never know when I'll have time for playing, I don't have great Internet connection and I like having my own collection of games and no rush to play them, not a huge collection but the games that make me feel something special like this series does.

I'm very excited about Xbox 1 games on Xbox One (pun not intended) if that means Fatal Frame (Project Zero) Special Edition (improved version of the original) and Conker Reload (not included in Rare Replay). About PS, PS4 is the only PS I own, so I'm still hoping for PS2 games to be digitally available for download, like they were last generation, because I suppose is impossible for PS4 to play PS2 discs. PS1 games would be a plus. If they can't make PS4 backwards compatible then they can create the emulators like Microsoft did, I'm sure PS4 is powerful enough.

Re: First 104 Xbox 360 Titles to Support Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One Announced

VanillaLake

I was waiting for this list for a long time. I wonder if Banjo Nuts & Bolts or the backwards compatibility engine will be improved because everybody says the preview version has a choppy frame rate! I'm also interested in Nights into Dreams, Rayman 3 HD because I've never played them before. I've been waiting for Sonic CD for ages, too!

My biggest disappointment is that there are no Capcom games. I missed PS3 and Xbox 360 and I want to have Resident Evil 5 and 6, as well as Super Street Fighter II Turbo Remix in my gaming library!
