Re: Is Microsoft Looking To Break The Console Cycle?

LuckyPenguin

Yeah, I’m with you on a unified Windows ecosystem Phil, but I will not support a console sold on a yearly/bi-yearly smartphone/tablet model and I will not support a console that has upgradable components. If I wanted a gaming rig I would build one, I choose not too because I like the plug and play nature of consoles.

@Warruz When EXP announced the Xbox One remaster during a livestream on their official UStream channel last September, they said the Xbox One remaster will feature new artwork by Oxijiyen. They also announced they where working on second DRPG for worldwide release on Xbox One for release in 2017.

The official NISA page only mentions the original artist and not Oxijiyen. The PS Vita port released in Japan on 01/22/15, which was way before the Xbox One livestream event, which is when they announced that Oxijiyen was coming on board to redraw all the art assets for the Xbox One remaster.

The game is also not being re-released in Japan on PS Vita, so I find it hard to see why EXP would go to the effort of including the redrawn art by Oxijiyen just for western gamers.

Re: Focus Confirms Farming Simulator 17 Will Grow On Xbox One in 2016

LuckyPenguin

"Farming Simulator 17 will - confusingly - be the follow up to last year's Farming Simulator 15,"

I can see how that would be confusing to outsiders of the franchise, but Giants splits years between console/PC and mobile. FS15 was console/PC, FS16 was mobile, FS17 is console/PC and FS18 will be mobile and so forth.

Personally I like to see more regions to farm, more diverse and region specific crops, more diverse and region specific livestock and non-European tractors and equipment like John Deere and Mahindra. Hopefully FS17 on Xbox One is more like the mobile versions, I tend to like them a little bit more than the console/PC versions. Also, if Madcatz does a Xbox version of the Farming Sim controller I would be a happy camper.

@flameboy84 @Warruz EXP is self-publishing the Xbox One version which is a enhanced remaster of the 2014 Xbox 360 RPG. The Xbox One version is the only version that has the option of playing the game with the original "classic style" artwork or the new "new style" artwork.

The Vita and Windows versions are just straight ports of the original Xbox 360 game and where released in 2014(PC) and 2015(PSV) in Japan. Both are being published by NISA in the west, which is why their is a physical Vita version. Both will only have the original "classic style" artwork.

I hope that helps.

Re: H1Z1 Splits Into Two Games, Both Coming to Xbox One

LuckyPenguin

Couldn't they have two different modes in one game? Have one dev team work on the King of the Kill mode and the other dev team work on the Just Survive mode? That just makes more sense to me.

22 Cans just did the same thing with Godus and broke it into two different titles. When Godus Wars should have been just a mode in the base game.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Eighty Seven

LuckyPenguin

I'll be spending more time with Rebel Galaxy, Shadows of Mordor GOTY Edition and Zheros this weekend. Zheros is a good arcade beat'em up, but needs a patch though. The wired visual screen tearing screws with my eyes.

I'll also spend a good chunk of my weekend watching shows on the CarbonTV app. Hands down my favorite app on Xbox One.

@SuperKMx I miss 18 Wheeler it was such a fun game. Would love to see a new one but I doubt it would be profitable enough for Sega to develop it.

Re: Yep, DC Universe Online Is Actually Coming to Xbox One

@darkswabber The IP was owned by Sony Online Entertainment (SOE), which is a separate subsidiary from Sony Computer Entertainment. Sony Corporation sold SOE to an investment firm called Columbus Nova. They then change their name from SOE to Daybreak Games.

Daybreak Games owns the rights to DCU Online, Planetside, Everquest, FreeRealms, H1Z1 IPs.
