Agreed, Tumble is superb — still one of the best displays of what Move can do — and a great Kinect puzzle game would go down really well with many I'm sure!
I don't doubt that we'll see lots of new stuff at E3 this year, and the article is in no way trying to write off Kinect retail stuff, but I do think there's a big gap in the market for smaller games
I think lots of studios will have ideas that would work really well on Kinect, but aren't necessarily big enough to make it to retail — that's where smaller games could really work. I'd like more Kinect games in general, though!
I think the "Better with Kinect" flash is a marketing idea; for PlayStation Move games they say "PlayStation Move features" which might have been a better idea here. Haven't tried it with Kinect yet (playing the PS3 version at the moment.)
Hate to say it but your next great Kinect game is probably six months away.
Nope, no ban — I remember them talking about so-called 'hybrid' games last year, it's just we haven't seen any so far. Let's hope Forza 4 isn't the first one as it's a long way off yet!
I think players will want to see a new Kinect that works better with core games, but I must admit I'm struggling to think of a way they could make it more core-friendly, other than — oh no — buttons!
They're always working on new hardware revisions: new controllers, new consoles, new technology. I'd wager we won't see another Kinect until the next Xbox so you have plenty of time
@Wiggadun The Master Performance mode is much harder, and remember Kinect is tracking your whole body here, not just one controller! I think the emphasis here isn't just on dancing, it's about the overall performance — that's what MJ was all about after all!
With difficulty! I can moonwalk beautifully in real life but on carpet it's tough, so what happens here is you assume the pose and the game animates you to make it look like you're moving
@abHS4L In the Dance or Performance mode it's can be quite slow, but each song has a different routine so some will be faster, some slower etc. The Master Performance modes are generally very fast and tough, and although they're not available for every song they are on the big ones: Smooth Criminal, Billie Jean, Beat It etc.
Spot on! I think the one thing this does brilliantly — more so than any Kinect game so far — is make you feel like someone else. You should have seen me going for it (when nobody was in!) to some of the songs. It's great fun even on your own, especially if you're a massive MJ fan like me. SHAMONE!
Welcome to the site @Weeeeeezer! I wonder how this would fit into any release schedule; perhaps it'd be a giveaway when you pre-order the full game? Who knows? We'll wait and see!
I'd love a Kinect-controlled Wallace and Gromit game where to win you had to impersonate Wallace's love of cheese while your friend played Gromit. It'd be great.
@Jaxim You can play the game with Kinect — after all, that's why we're covering it — but it looks like it'll only be in exhibition or local multiplayer matches, rather than online or World tour mode.
It's an on-rails shooter where you drag your hand over enemies to 'tag' them, then send shots by pushing your hand forward. At least, that's my impression, can't wait to play it!
Welcome to the site, davahsa! I think kids are going to love this — it's Sesame Street! — so it'll be interesting to hear how it goes down at your household.
I'd love it to be an off-road racer or a take on adrenaline sports — skydiving, white water rafting, that sort of thing. It's probably going to be fitness, though!
I'd like to see clips come in around the 80 - 160 MSP mark, depending on length, and probably around 240 for backgrounds. If they want you to create your own collection they really should be dirt cheap!

@dirtyvu Er, apart from that one, obviously...

Re: Burn Those Calories in New Kinect Sports DLC Next Week
New opponents, 250G of Achievements and two Avatar Awards, but no new minigames.
Re: Ubisoft's Let's Dance with Mel B Quicksteps to 27th May
@davahsa Google "Mel B Dance" images and see what comes up. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Re: Talking Point: Share Your Yoostar 2 Performances
It does now!
Re: Burn Those Calories in New Kinect Sports DLC Next Week
The rumour is we'll see Kinect Sports 2 announced at E3 — we'll keep you posted!

Re: Burn Those Calories in New Kinect Sports DLC Next Week
This might be my favourite ever screenshot.
Re: Microsoft Already Building the Future of Kinect Hardware
Or maybe we'll see two Kinect sensors to capture you in full 3D?

Re: Review: Carnival Games - In Action! (Xbox 360)
Sadly they are not. A shame as I'd love my pirate ninja Avatar to appear on others' Friends Lists!
Re: This Kinect Sports Superstars Video is Tiring Even to Watch
+5 Internet comedy points to you, Dazza!
Re: Review: Carnival Games - In Action! (Xbox 360)
Yes, yes it should! Good spot
@ManicMilner This is worth a play now, Wipeout might not be out for months yet so this will tide you over until then.
I know in the UK this is only about £20 from certain places, and worth the price of admission at that.
Re: Kinect Support for Netflix Shouts "Action" Today
Living in the UK I haven't been able to test this out — could you explain a bit more about what it does/doesn't do?
Re: Kinect Voice Control Vital to Sensor's Future, says Rare Boss

Re: Gold Members, Have An Exclusive Fantastic Pets Demo
Sounds good, thanks for your feedback! I'm looking forward to giving this one a go in a few days
Re: Kinectimals Demo Let Loose on Xbox Live Next Week
Should be out now!
Re: Trailer for New Sonic Game Sneaks In a Kinect Mention
I'm so swept up in Sonic fever I even considered buying Sonic Heroes yesterday. Thank God I came to my senses: worst Sonic game ever.

Re: Trailer for New Sonic Game Sneaks In a Kinect Mention
I think the anniversary will be awesome and not at all a let-down like the Mario one was. But then I would say that...
Re: Out Today: Friday 8th April 2011 (Europe)
Welcome to the site, @DeCato!
@Soaduk My copy should be here tomorrow so we'll have a review up early next week. Thanks for your patience!
Re: Meet Child of Eden's Creator at UK Event Next Week
Looks like this one will have a very different soundtrack - more poppy, less clubby, if that's your cup of tea!

Probably not! Have you played Rez?
Re: Sesame Street Once Upon a Monster Concept Art is Beautiful

Re: Forza 4 Features Head-Tracking, Voice Control, Jeremy Clarkson
@Slappy You shout "vroooooooooom" to go faster and "woah!" to stop!
Re: Rare: We Have Only Used 10% of Kinect's Power
@ManicMilner haha, not sure that's quite what they meant!
Re: Kinect Input Lag Could Be Cut to Under 5 Milliseconds
Depends on the game — it's noticeable in the rubbish ones, but seeing as you seem to have the best games it's not surprising you didn't notice it.
Still, less lag on the best games = best games get better, I guess.
Re: Rise of Nightmares ESRB Rating Heavy On the Sex and Violence
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the winner.
Re: Gamestation Leaks Ubisoft's Adrenaline for Kinect
@andyhoward Perhaps this year's FIFA will include a Kinect minigame — penalty shoot outs perhaps? What would you want them to do with Kinect?
Re: Hardware Impressions: Official Kinect Sensor Wall Mount
Agreed - above your TV it looks great, but if anyone wants it below it's not quite so good-looking!
Perhaps a Kinect S model in future could remedy its bulky nature
Re: Play Leaks Super Me for Kinect
Could be a superhero game, perhaps?
Re: Wipeout In the Zone Brings its Big Red Balls to Kinect
@ManicMilner Previous UK versions have been called "The Big Red Ball Challenge" believe it or not!
Re: Gamestation Leaks Ubisoft's Adrenaline for Kinect
I'd love it to be an off-road racer or a take on adrenaline sports — skydiving, white water rafting, that sort of thing. It's probably going to be fitness, though!

Re: Kinect Joy Ride Gets New Features for Free Today
@RedToad64 I must be honest and say I don't know, I got rid of the game after reviewing it! Hopefully someone else can help you out
