Re: Five More Games Are Available With Xbox Game Pass Today (Oct 15)

@Mckilmer In general, I would like more mouse/keyboard support on the Xbox, as well.

With Xcloud stuff, especially seeing the iOS workaround they're trying is browser based, I'm hoping for a PC version of the browser-based Xcloud, similar to Stadia. But, you know, better than Stadia. The app version is much better than what I've gotten from Stadia or PS Now, so I have high hopes.

Re: Xbox 'Investigating' Adding More Older Backwards Compatible Games

@wazza99999 A fellow Olympic Game fan, I thought I was the only one! Absolutely love London 2012. Still remember the weird looks I got from the worker when I pre-ordered it. You'd have thought I was pre-ordering a game with a body pillow. (I bet that's more common though.)

Licensing issues bum me out, as I would love for some older licensed games to be playable, like Simpsons Hit and Run, the Xbox Lord of the Rings games, the Harry Potter games, and older sports titles. Realistically, I'd love Mortal Kombat Armageddon and Shaolin Monks, Stubbs the Zombie, the Max Payne series, yadda yadda yadda.

Re: Pick One: Which Of These Xbox Simpsons Games Is Your Favourite?

Darthroseman

@BlueOcean Sadly no, I've really wanted to check out the 360/PS3 Simpsons Game. I have still have a functioning PS3, so I can grab it there if needed, but I'd much rather be able to play all of them on the Series X. Hoping we get some news eventually about them expanding backwards compat more once the Series S/X is out and things are going smoothly with it.

Re: 60FPS Should Be A Foundational Feature Of Next-Gen, Says Xbox Game Dev

@Alec1992 You're correct, I was going off old information. I will still say it is concerning to me they are already conceding they cannot do 4K 60FPS on Miles, Demon's Souls, and Ratchet and Clank, while Xbox is very much saying they are targetting 4K and at least 60FPS. The PS5 and Xbox will both sell well and be fine systems, but the PS5 as a piece of hardware has many more red flags for me. There's a lot of, "This is a holdover to run these until the PS5 Pro comes out and is actually the system we should have put out in the first place." vibes.

Re: Xbox Series X|S Are Designed To 'Blend In With The Environment'

Darthroseman

I love how they are unassuming. It's what I want in my electronics. Either be unassuming and blend in or be toy-like and fun, which is what the Switch is. I have to put in effort to find PC cases I don't despise thanks to all the dumb lights. I'm not 15 anymore, I do not find those things cool like I once did.

Re: Xbox Game Pass Model Wouldn't Make Financial Sense For PS5, Says CEO Jim Ryan

@tinCAT-zero That's the joke. Horizon, Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima are the same game with a different setting, but functionally very similar and none do it as well as Zelda for my money, though I really enjoyed Spider-Man.

I own all the systems and a decent enough PC, I have no horse in this race, but Sony folks love running into other sites and starting fires. There's plenty of games to play on all the systems, but the reason I buy a PlayStation is for MLB, which isn't exclusive anymore.

Talk about the games in Xbox's showcase and saying you didn't think they looked good, but they're all available via Game Pass, so I don't have to make a large initial investment to even try it. I've put hundreds of hours into games I would never consider buying/playing before Game Pass, it's revolutionary. I need to find 1 game I really like every 4 months to make it a value with the cost of games rising, and I generally find a few a month I really like.

At the end of the day, if people are enjoying the games they're playing, what's it to you? For my money, the PS5 is not a next gen console based on the type of output it's giving. Can't play launch titles at 4K/30FPS is a very scary thing. Assassin's Creed is running at 4K/60FPS on the Series X. What types of concessions will they have to make for games in a couple years? They'll need to release a "Pro" version by 2022. No one has actually SEEN a working PS5 or the OS or anything. There's SO MANY red flags for the system right now, I'm not touching it. You're welcome to buy it and play God of War Ragnarok to your heart's content, won't make me enjoy Hellblade 2 less.

Sony is resting on it's laurels so far with the entire PS5 and certain people in this comments thread show there is a brand loyalty to them which some follow like a cult. The great leader tells no lies and does no wrong. They haven't done a player-friendly thing in years. Sony has no profitable business other than the PlayStation division, and it's starting to show how much they need it to survive as a company.
