I'm curious to see how the reveal compares to what the game actually is. The reveal was a while ago and they are still talking about "give[ing] them the time and resources" Signals to me the reveal was not really the game and they are further out than we think.

I hope I'm wrong.

Outer Wilds and The Messenger are such good games. Sad to see them go. Hopefully they announce a few good titles to take their place. While Flight Simulator is cool, it's not new for those of us with a PC.

Would this mean PlayStation has COD as the "official console?" Means little to me, but I assume this does make a big difference on sales.

@Vinsanity why should I be excited for Prodeus? Also, you can run most, if not all games, a fairly cheaply built PC.

Limbo is nice, but nothing that exciting. Even more meh when compared with what is leaving: Ever Wilds, The Messenger, Soul Caliber, Monster Hunter, and Marvel v. Capcom. Hopefully we get a few more surprise announcements considering Dark Alliance has issues.

Was this running on a Series X or a super PC running a 3090? I hope a Series X, but I'd assume the most powerful PC possible.

@BrilliantBill I get that, but I like it better as a great AA game with a small scale. I wonder if the extra time and money will make it that much better as opposed to us getting two or more games from them in a similar timespan.

Eighteen months after announcement and they are working on a section of the game. Sounds like a four or five year dev cycle, hopefully the game is big enough to justify that amount of time.

I'll wait for actual numbers. Having a 100% (a hypo) increase in sales is great unless it's going from 200 to 600 units sold. Hopefully they get Persona 5 Royal on Gamepass. That game is so good.

This is like saying water is wet. Of course developing for only Xbox (and PC) will be easier than another system too. Perhaps they could drop PC and focus just on the Series X, but that's a pipe dream.

Now hopefully they can iron out the bugs their games are historically known for.

@Akimi I don't disagree but releasing two main games and a few DLCs in 10 years seems low. Throw in Starfield and it's three games over 11 years. Better, but still less than I'd like. I would prefer a shorter game with a two year dev cycle as opposed to five year dev cycles for massive games. I'm not sure the extra bloat makes the game 2x-3x as good.

This is one game where a VR partnership would be awesome.

Sounds great, but they need to go dark until it's time to show gameplay. No need to overhype it or go full Cyberpunk.

Possibly getting word on the 17th I hope. I assume they need to space this out form Elder Scrolls 6 which will be similar. So if it's 2023, hopefully spring, then ES6 in the fall of 2024? Seems like forever from now.

@The_New_Butler I get that and I'm going to keep my Series X and Gamepass Ultimate sub, but it's just frustrating seeing them year after year keep us waiting "till next year." I'll wait, just getting old.

On another note, I hate acquisitions as consolidation hurts gaming competition (IMO), but why haven't they bought Moon Studios!

@The_New_Butler I agree, but Sony seems to have a balance between letting teams have creative freedom but not letting them get lost in the weeds. I don't know if that's from hiring good people to manage or from being more hands on with deadlines and builds.

I want them to release amazing games without having to delay and reboot them frequently.

Anyone else concerned about Xbox's managing of their games? Halo, Everwild, Scalebound, etc, canceled, rebooted, significant delays. I'd love for them to get better mangers in to keep things on track.

I'm tired of acquiring studios. We need games out of the studios they already have. Denying other gamers games doesn't get me excited, pushing the Series X to its limits with a first party exclusive does.

I get a five minute counter, but an hour is a dumb move. I don't care and can wait, but influencers will structure their day around it and this will mess their work days up. Grumpy streamers may be less enthusiastic and it will hurt their marketing.

@The_New_Butler I think many in games media and consumers in their 30s remember that jump from 2d to 3d, then the jump from PS1 to PS2/Xbox and the big jump in fidelity. All the previous generational leaps minus PS3-4 felt huge. We are still chasing that.

I assume this generation we will appreciate quick loads, better AI, and 60 fps. All great things but less easy to quantify on a preview.

@OliverOwen I'm down to play some games, but nothing is speaking to me. Maybe I'll try Outriders? I'll gladly take suggestions. Loved me some Ori, Wasteland 3, and Bloodstained, but nothing else is speaking to me.

<3 Phil. I want this caliber of came on my Xbox. Love Gamepass, but my Xbox isn't getting as much use besides Netflix/Disney+.

@gingataisen why? The art style looks fun, but the description doesn't tell me much about the game. What kind of game is it and why are you excited?

@The_New_Butler Agreed. I assume they are pulling punches to make an E3 announcement, "Now available on Gamepass."

While this is great, give us new games! 95% of us can’t even display 120fps or tell the difference. Give me 4K/60 and a new game to play.

Love this idea, but I'm ready to start playing some Xbox exclusives that are good and stop talking about it. Show me the games! They have 20+ studios now and should dominate this generation from this fall on. We will see.

@Casco I don’t remember the city, one of the knots, but as you come over the hill after a long journey and see the city with boulders all around you and the music starts — awesome.

@Fenbops Exactly. Some games hit for me and others are big whiffs. Strangely enough MGS5 didn't hit for me. Could have been the timing for me, who knows. Have a good day!

@Fenbops I'd disagree! That was one of the most unique, intense, zen, and fun experience I had last year. It was a nice break from metroidvenia/shooter/open world tower/RPG games. If you haven't tried it, I suggest you do. It may be coming to Xbox, if you believe Spencer's shelf. If you have tried it and didn't care for it, that stinks.

Everyone trying to stand up for the Series S. As an owner of a Series X, I wish the S didn’t exist. It will hold back the potential of games and developers will have to make it run on the S and optimize for the X.

@Medic_Alert I was hoping for their independence as an Xbox fan. More for Xbox to manage makes me worried about quality control and getting projects out.

I’m so happy about this. I’ve had to turn off my series X, pull the cord, and used the pair button on several occasions. This is great news, if it works.

I’d prefer the games first be great, multi platform or not, before we worry about exclusive. So many exclusive meh games, IMO. Not trolling, just rooting for Xbox (and my Gamepass account).

Hopefully with some big titles will be announced to take the place of these. These are some bigger titles leaving.

Good job to set expectations. People were getting all hyped for thirteen new games. Still excited to see what they do.

I am excited for this event, but worry Xbox will overhype this event. Many will expect tons of AAA games and a big show, but this more likely will be a a few updates, indies, and one bigger game. Either way, I’m excited

Can someone help me out. It won’t let me play my Gamepass games I’ve downloaded. Says signin or renew subscription. I’ve signed in, my internet is good, but it isn’t letting me play

Any PoE fans out that that can tell me if I have to play PoE 1 before 2 or can I go straight to 2? I assume the second is better and builds on systems and QoL items from 1.

@lokozar I love my series X, but have experienced similar slow speeds. Both PS5 and series X hard wired, games all closed, and the speed jumps from 50 mbps to 300 mbps. The PS does seem to go faster. Doesn’t bug me, as the download does go fast either way.

Could be the other commenters and I are the the exception, or you are. Either way, seems like a non-issue and the difference of 10 min of my life when downloading a 70 gig game, which isn’t often.

Xbox hasn’t had a good history with the power cords, red rings, and now the issues with the elite controllers. What’s the issue with quality control? At least the elite controller issues isn’t as major of an issue.

@gollumb82 I agree. Sony should mix it up with another killzone or, better yet, a isometric cRPG. Perhaps partnering with Larian (dream!). I do love switching between the two systems for all types of games.

People are going to kill him for his comment, but he’s not wrong. The story driven high-quality games drove Sony’s domination of the last generation. GamePass rocks! But it won’t truly shine until some AAA bangers come out on it. I’m excited for Starfield, Avowed, Fable, and others, but they seem further off. Halo is around the corner, but likely won’t be story heavy and is not a new IP.

@mousieone I feel you on that. I just want people to jump in and buy the system(s). The more that jump on, the more great games we will get. Have a good day!
