Re: Josef Fares Blasts Xbox Series Naming Convention As A 'Total F**king Mess'

@mousieone but the Iphones (for the most part) do go 1, 2, 3, 4, with iterations at the start X/S/R . . . It would be like the Iphone 1, Iphone 360, Iphone One, Iphone One X, Iphone Series X, etc. I would assume the X would be the tenth, the 360 the third or the newest, the series X|S I don't even know.

It's clearly confusing consumers — hence this article and others in the past. It doesn't matter if you or I understand it. They need to have it be simple for the mom opening up Amazon before Christmas. They even get their own naming conventions messed up . . .

All the comments on here defending the naming. It is confusing. I get it and I assume most on this site will get it — we are enthusiasts. But the general public who is the vast majority of buyers will be so confused. Most of the confusion comes from the One X vs the One Series X. It's too close.

What happens for the next generation? Series P? Doesn't sound as cool, so they go to a different naming convention? The conversation should be about how great the games and system are. Is this a big deal to me? No, but it is an unforced error.

I'm excited to get my Series X, but I'm more excited for the Game Awards. I assume we will hear something about some Xbox games from there. I don't know what I'll even play day one to feel next gen. PS5 has Demon Souls, Miles, and a few others, but I'm not sure for Xbox. Maybe AC? I just wish we had one thing that was super pretty and new, or even remade.

Still hyped, but just wish I was excited to play something.
