Six months or so after it first introduced the initial Worlds update for No Man's Sky, Hello Games is back again with another huge overhaul for its Xbox Game Pass adventure.
No Man's Sky: Worlds Part 2 is out now on Xbox, and again, it's another big old update from Hello Games here. Players can expect "new stars, new story, and new classes of planet - including gas giants, water worlds, and ruined civilisations" along with "new terrain shapes and biomes and a total overhaul of lighting systems, improved water rendering, faster load times - and much more!"
"Update 5.50, WORLDS PART II, transforms the universe with new stars, new story, and new planets. Explore ancient ruins, gas giants and water worlds, and discover strange creatures, varied biomes and dramatic terrain. Featuring new gameplay, huge improvements in lighting and water rendering, and much more.
Our journey continues."
In all honesty, if you're interested in trying this new update out, it's probably worth reading through Hello Games' huge blog on Worlds Part 2 - it contains so many improvements and changes it's hard to list them all here. Alternatively, you can check out lead dev Sean Murray's deep dive on the No Man's Sky update in the video down below.
At the time of posting, No Man's Sky remains an Xbox Game Pass title, and the value Hello Games has brought to this experience over the years is staggering. NMS didn't have the easiest birth, but it's developed into one of the most accomplished adventures on Xbox - and clearly, the team isn't done with updates just yet.
Who's still playing No Man's Sky, then? Talk to us about Worlds Part 2 down in the comments.

That's genuinely an unbelievable amount of improvements and content...
To think back when this first launched in PS, there were office closures and more besides, they've come a lot further, a hell of a lot further, than most would have ever believed possible. Well done to them.
You’re telling me after 2 huge worlds updates and they still can’t add different coloured rock surfaces? I’m tired of all these pretty planets marred by ugly black mountains. Where’s the idyllic limestones and chalky looking landscapes? I just want it to back to Pathfinder’s beauty.
Still haven't fixed the infinite red circle. Have to sign out then in just to get to the main menu. Been like that since the worlds part 1 update.
It's amazing how far this game has come since it first launched. The ongoing updates must have made it a solid continuous seller.
I genuinely don't know how the devs have the time or money to be supporting this game the way that they have but, well done.
It's all been said a million times, but what a game this has turned into. From bland and empty to almost overwhelmingly packed with content.
I do wonder what is still in it for the devs though. Is it still selling enough copies to make these massive updates worthwhile?! Not knocking it, just wondering how much bigger they actually need to make this game.
Rumor has it this is the last update, other than fixes, as they transition to their new project. I still play NMS just for relaxing fun. Totally excited to see this new update. Even though it's always on GP, I bought the game. I'll buy their new one even if I don't play it much out pure admiration for coming so far with what has become an amazing game.
