Developer Rocksteady has outlined the future of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, with an offline mode arriving today - as Season 4 lands on Xbox. From December 10th, owners will be able to play the game offline, with the team winding down support on the live service title in early 2025.
As for that offline mode, it sounds like a pretty robust offering from the WB-owned studio. You'll be able to play the main story campaign and all seasonal mission content without an internet connection - and all earned/purchased cosmetics will work offline as well.
Here's how Rocksteady details this new way to play:
"We’ve talked before about an Offline mode coming to the game, and we’re pleased to make this option available as part of the Season 4 Episode 7 release on December 10. Offline mode will allow you to experience content released for the game, including the main story campaign and all seasonal story mission content, without an internet connection.
To access Offline mode, you can either create a new profile by starting from the beginning of the game or create a copy of your existing Online profile, allowing you to jump in with all of your progress. All earned and purchased cosmetics will also be available in Offline mode."
If all of this sounds like the perfect time to jump into Suicide Squad: KTJL, it might be worth hopping onto your Xbox in the next few days to pick the game up. For the next couple of days, the game's $100 Deluxe Edition is available for just $5 - yep, that's a ridiculous 95% off this Xbox Series X|S title for a short time.

Finally, Rocksteady has also announced that Season 4 of Suicide Squad: KTJL will be the game's final post-launch season. The last bit of Season 4 content is set to arrive next month, but the game will remain available for purchase — and playable both online and offline — for the foreseeable future.

I got this the other day cost me 50cents to buy with reward points and im loving it the combat isn't ground breaking but still fun and loads to do in the game and it looks really good I'd say if your on the fence just buy it!
Should have had it at launch. 🤷 I'll pick it up sometime after the servers go offline think they proved offline does indeed work. Just glad it was easy to refund.
Maybe they can get back to making proper games now because, Arkham Shadow, a VR game, is 100x the game Suicide Squad is.
To be fair to the team FAIRPLAY for that. At least it won't ever be dead service. Some like the game and it's good they will be able to play or others of us that are intrigued can perhaps play it some day. If only to experience the story, and Kevin Conroy. RIP.
Might have to get this game now.
I was starting to doubt they'd deliver on that promise, so this is a great shadow drop!
Few more months and they will go full Avengers mode and just give all the BP stuff away.
Hopefully anyone on the fence will now pick it up at that price with the offline mode added.
This is unbelievable. A game as trash as this gets achievement/trophy protection, while countless other (infinitely better) games say ‘F*** You’ to dedicated achievement hunters and shut the servers down and permanently screw everyone out of any online related achievements? What Rocksteady did here is not only the simple solution to the problem, it’s the only acceptable one. This practice needs to be mandated across the entire industry by all platform holders. We should not tolerate any more lazy, shady behavior by scummy developers.
Ngl, I actually thought this game couldn’t be played alone. Being able to play it like a single-player game AND offline is a lot more enticing. Thanks for the heads up, PureXbox.
I also got the game for free lol, Prime Gaming gave away Epic keys for the game back in July. Maybe I’ll finally try it out this winter. Should run well on my new-ish GPU.
I hope the sale holds till Friday. Can’t pick it up before then. Excited for the offline mode.
Hmmmm wondering if i should grab it...
Great news! Do we know if the season characters are un locked from the start or you have to finish the main game and grind season pass content to unlock them? I had read that when Joker was released you had to grind to unlock him regardless of where you were in game, but I hadn't checked since. It is still unlikely I ever play this game, but if I did I would probably want to try deathstroke out of the gate
@RentedPanda You have to grind to get each individual character post-story, unfortunately.
@HeavyHoggJP Grab it by the balls it's a decent game!
As much as I love MultiVersus, I don't see it surviving with Warner Bros. forcing them to make the monetization worse every Season. Can only hope they'll add Offline for the Rifts PvE Mode and work out the kinks for Local Play before it inevitably gets axed.
The game is an Epic failure. Pandering to 5% of the gaming market and alienating the other 95% isn't a winning business strategy it would seem.
Oh well. Western studios would literally rather go bankrupt than cater to straight men. Their choice.
I have to give WB props here, they might have jumped into that live service pool and sank but at least they aren't letting it drown (giving it an offline mode)
@shoeses I hope that Multiverses gets a similar treatment. I'd happily pay for a version without the LS stuff.
Despite the fact SS got so much wrong, this is a huge plus. Any game, good or bad, should not be lost to time or made inaccessible.

U wot m8?
@Ricky-Spanish i grabbed it for the hell of it lol. My daughters enjoy Harley Quinn so I will probably coop with them
Just picked up this afternoon with a 5$ gift card and 1,90CAN$. I am sure I will have fun for more than what it cost me.
@HeavyHoggJP It's a good game I'm enjoying it hope you and the family do to!👍💪
Crazy how a life service game got 0 additional content.
Every season was simply content stripped from the base game and added back.
@Overzeal that’s an all too common practice these days…chopping off a portion of planned base game content in order to sell it as DLC
I think this is a win for the players who enjoy the game. "should've been there at launch" aside, it's been added now and I know the game's players will appreciate that. It also adds some more value to it as now the game isn't as risky a purchase. If WB pulls the plug, you can still play and keep the content you purchased.
All that said WB Games is in a worrisome place. Heck WB is in a worrisome place and have been ever since AT&T bought them. It's gotten significantly worse since AT&T woke up, realized they're a telecommunications company, and spun WB off with discovery but then just had to saddle the new company with the debt they took on yo make the purchase in the first place. Oh and for some reason put discovery in charge 🙃. I'm honestly surprised WB games hasn't itself been sold off with all the times WBDiscovery and AT&T have hinted at it now. And what sucks is that because they haven't been sold off they've just become this shell there to funnel money back into WBDiscovery's insane debt. I'm really worried for the Wonder Woman game announced a while back by the Shadow of Mordor/War devs.
