Already got Persona reload pre-loaded on my console. Getting to play it on Gamepass was one of the reasons I finally picked up an Xbox.
i did the 3 year trick a while back, gp comes out to $5 a month and i still feel scamed. i want my money back.
Some real bangers in that list.. I'm sure MS is gonna add few unannounced games through the month though.
P3R is a huge get for Gamepass. It will drive some good subscription growth alongside Eiyuden Chronicle 100 heroes. I will save £100 by not having to buy them on PS.
@rustyduck You feel scammed? Are you for real? That's insane value for the amount of games you can access!
P3R will keep me busy for a while. I'm also looking forward to Open Roads. And maybe Plate Up. I think Soul Hackers 2 will be leaving the service soon, so I should try to finish it here within the next few weeks...
Pretty weak month IMO, but I guess the Persona game isn't bad.
@rustyduck Probably because of the game selection? It's definitely not for everyone.
I only have Ultimate to play Gears and Guilty Gear on my phone. Otherwise, I'd rather just buy the games I really want to play instead of feeling like I need to play all the third-party mid-tier titles we seem to get every month just to feel like I didn't waste my money.
MS needs more first party games BADLY, IMHO.
@BaldBelper78 Yeah, I get it. If you long term subbed, but if you’re there for the Day One with Gamepass types of games that Xbox hyped heavily in 2019 and 2020 (while likely knowing full well the release schedule in 2021 and 2022 would be light), Gamepass would definitely feel light, especially if you’re a gamer that had been pretty active in the last few generations. I know, for me, Gamepass offers value in that I’ll usually play maybe 5 or 6 games a year on it start to finish that I would’ve otherwise bought, so it’s decent to me, even if I’ll go sometimes 3 or 4 months without even booting my Xbox, but, again, if you’re there for the first party games, you’ve not only got a light selection, but a weak selection the last couple years. Oh sure, there’s been a game or two a year that’s great, but still, there’s an argument to be made that Xbox needs to be doing better with their first party studios, given their resources.
@rustyduck
As someone who got his first Xbox ever last June I'd have to disagree with you.
I too did the Gold to Gamepass ultimate conversion for 3 years and it came to £100
In that time, I have managed to beat these games that came out in 2023
Like a dragon Ishin
Like a dragon the man who erased his name
Lies Of P
Buying them by themselves would have cost me £180. I now get Persona 3 Reloaded and thats another £60 saved. I didnt even mention playing the Halo/Gears franchises for the first time and having access to the latest FIFA games as a footie fan.
I imagine by the end of 3 years, i would have saves thousands of pounds. $5/month for all these games plus the activision games coming this year is insane value.
Thats cheaper than a Big Mac Meal
With the EU’s new Digital Markets Act taking effect on March 7, 2024, will Xbox and PlayStation have to open up their boxes to third party downloads via browser because of the companies market cap size? Apple had to due to market cap size. Sony and Microsoft both offer apps on their boxes too like Netflix Disney plus etc. Obviously game pass and PlayStation plus would remain the same, but could Sony be forced in the EU to allow third party apps downloaded from a browser like game pass app? Or Xbox be forced in the EU to allow third party apps downloaded from a browser like PlayStation plus or epic games store?
@rustyduck yeah I know. I have three months non activated so I'm just waiting for some actual quality games to be added. It's been 90% trash for way too long now. What games would you wanna see added?
Do we know if the Game Pass version of Persona 3 Reload comes with the pre-order bonus or not?
@UltimateGuru probably not since you aren't paying to pre-order it.
@Mindurbiniss what i would like added to game pass: fobia, robo cop, terminator, cyberpunk, resident evil 4, dead island 2, teardown, trepang, turok games, and most of all i want an indie dev to make lots of old style medal of honor type games. and enshrouded when it comes to xbox.
@rustyduck I heard Robocop was pretty good. Stayed true to the film.Trepang looks awesome too. Had never even heard of it, then stumbled across some gameplay the other day. I used to love F.E.A.R. so it's right up my alley. I'd like to see Session or Sifu get added as well.
I want Anuchard, Plateup and A Little to the Left (after Googling the achievements and watching footage on YouTube last week)
I feel if you are a very specific in the type of game in Gamepass you could have a dry spell but if you like all types of games then Gamepass is amazing value. Also a newer gamer like myself the catalog is like watching Inception and having your brain melt in an orgy of gluttony….
Loved Bloodstained. Though there may be a little bias since my name is in the credits.
Still though, a fun romp with nice aethetics and multiple endings. If you like Meteoidvanias, and Iga in particular, definitely a must have.
Man, I really want PGA and WRC added to EA Play sooner rather than later.
Anyone got an inside scoop on when that could happen?
Nothing really in this list for me. May give resi 3 a go but that'll be it.
Bloodstained is coming back to GP? IIRC, it was in the service in 2020, the year I got my Series X, I even beat it in Christmas of that year!
It is great, BTW. I did buy it later on Steam, where it is heavily discounted now and then (besides, it looks great on the Steam Deck). Definitely, a must for lovers of Metroidvanias.
@The-Grezzly-Bear Ea PGA was an April 23 release so if you go by the theory that one year has to pass then maybe April 24. However being only a XS only game might cause it to never be added in Gamepass… we shall see but I love golf games…
Of course in keeping with tradition, I bought Bloodstained two weeks ago in a Humble bundle, and now it comes to Game Pass with cross save functionality. (I play PC games on my ROG Ally).
I'll put my playthrough on hold, and play the Windows version instead.
@AlwaysPlaying fair point. Here's hoping for April this year then!
@rustyduck @rustyduck I'm completely with you. Almost everything on gamepass seems explicitly mediocre and not worth even playing imo, which is why they get added to game pass I would guess. Cyberpunk would be a great addition, I'm currently contemplating the $30 sale price for it now before it expires after the weekend but even $30 seems too high. I also would love to see RoboCop and Terminator added to game pass, you know, some quality FPS 's.
@InterceptorAlpha Did you really work on Bloodstained? Congrats mate it’s a top game. What do you do out of interest and what other games have you worked on?
I haven’t even finished RE2 yet 😔
@GeeEssEff Most of my roles are have been relegated to paid testing roles. Have specify paid because most people think public betas when uoh say you test. I'm talking testing before half the assets even exist and you have checkered, purple, cubes representing things. 😂
Not the most glorious thing as you're pretty much spending time intentially trying to break things and/or going down a check list. But hey, a foot in the door and being paid to play something not even released. The bad thing is there are quite a few times you report things that go completely ignored. My time working on Assassin's Creed: Unity is an obvious example of that one. I cannot tell you have many tickets on the tracker I had opened a a year before release that went unfixed by the time it hit retail.
For Bloodstained, I had a little bit more input. Still testing, but got to work on some stage, mob, and boss development as well. Thank you though! I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. I know it isn't some people's cup of tea, and that's okay.
