Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is one of Microsoft's biggest releases of the year, with the game's arrival fast approaching at the end of October. It's safe to say there's been quite a bit of hype behind this one - especially with its inclusion in Xbox Game Pass on day one.
So, we're going to round up all of the details we know about Black Ops 6 so far, including the release date, when you can preload the title, the release times, what tiers of Xbox Game Pass you can play it on, and more. Here we go!
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Release Date For Xbox
Treyarch is bringing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on October 25, 2024.
There is no form of early access this year, not even for the game's story campaign mode.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 Release Times On Xbox
The console version of Black Ops 6 will be available at midnight local time (00:00am) on October 25th.
If you're playing on PC via Steam or Battle.net, Black Ops 6 will be available at specific times per region. We'll throw the team's PC launch time map down below.

Black Ops 6 Preload For Xbox Game Pass
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available to preload on Xbox from October 21st - and that includes Xbox Game Pass players. You'll be able to download the Black Ops 6 game files (via the Call of Duty app) at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST on that date.
Here's how to get it installed on preload day:
- Find the Call of Duty app (either installed or via the Xbox Store)
- Hit 'Manage Game & Add-Ons'
- Select the Black Ops 6 files
- Get them installed and ready to go!
What Tiers Of Xbox Game Pass Is Black Ops 6 On?
As we mentioned up at the top, this is a big Call of Duty launch for Microsoft - Black Ops 6 is available day one on Xbox Game Pass. However, it's only available on certain tiers of the service, so here's where you can play and where you can't.
For console players, you'll need a full Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to play Black Ops 6. Xbox Game Pass Core and Game Pass Standard members will not be able to play at launch. We don't know yet if the game will come to either of those tiers later down the line.
PC players can access the game through either PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Is Black Ops 6 Coming To Xbox One?
In short, yes, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox One - as well as Xbox Series X|S.
However, the Xbox One version version is missing two key features. There'll be no split-screen option, and no theater mode in the last-gen version of Black Ops 6.
And, there you have it - we're all ready to go for Call of Duty's first-ever day one launch on Xbox Game Pass this October. See you out on the battlefield!

You know... I'm really looking forward to this. I haven't played a COD game in ages, especially online multiplayer. It's great that it's coming straight to GamePass too 😁
Will need to look at making space though on the hard drive 🤔
Well I’ve downloaded all I can the front end
and MW3
So will have to wait for BO6 download.
So excited about this one.
And happy that its coming to gamepass! Reason for me to buy the Ultimate pass again.
Question tho, are they all available on gamepass? MWII & MWIII?
@The-Chosen-one Modern Warfare III is available on Game Pass. I enjoyed it more than I expected after reading a few reviews. I'm excited about Black Operations 6.
Can't wait for this first cod day one since the 360 days gonna be on the multiplayer all that weekend! (After the kids have gone asleep)
@Banjo-
Mmm yeah i loved MWII but had doubts about 3.
I will give it a try thanks!
I have a feeling this new COD will be the best one in years. They had 4 years to make it.
Really wish Xbox would be more aggressive with positioning their logo with the Black Ops 6 marketing. Idk if it’s a contract thing or not but they are really dropping the ball. Mainly care cause I don’t want to see “black ops 6 hasn’t caused the amount of new game pass subscribers that we thought we would get so Xbox is getting more job cuts” cause thats totally some ***** Microsoft and Xbox would do.
