Around may 2002. I had gotten fed up with my PS2 (never was a big fan of the PS2 - the PSOne on the other hand, wow!).
I bought Halo along with the console and thought it was a really, really good FPS. Now the OG Xbox was never one of my favorite consoles, but looking back there were quite few really good experiences; Halo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer (console exclusive), Deus Ex: Invisible War (console exclusive), Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Indiana Jones: The Emperor's Tomb, Black, Morrowind and probably a few others.
These days I'm 100% a handheld player and love my Switch Lite and my 3DS and have a Vita and Steam Deck too (plus a few others)
Edit: Outrun and Project Zero II were really good too. And the Splinter Cell games as well.
Note to developers: please patch in ability to save anytime, anywhere in 'Angel of Darkness', as I can't even make through the tutorial because the game's so damn clunky (and I do think the premise and location are interesting).
Edit: My bad, you can save anytime, anytime. Thanks.
@BAMozzy Ok, you're maybe right. It does seem like Xbox has momentum right now with Gamepass becoming popular (so popular that Sony are trying to do their version of it). Also there's the global inflation with people's wages (and savings) becoming less worth. In that situation Gamepass could be a good way of saving some money (if people are not TOO specific in their gaming tastes).
Resident Evil Village was announced back in june 2020 as being for the next gen consoles, but Capcom dialed back and made PS4/Xbox One versions as well. Sony dialed back and made a PS4 version of Horizon FW too (plus some others as well - Demon's Souls sold badly so I think they will make a PS4 version as well).
Could it be to ensure that the install base is big enough? Seems like a lot of current generation games are being delayed. Starfield an Redfall are Series X/S (plus PC) exclusives aren't they?

Re: Xbox Hardware Sales In The US Are Up Huge Amounts Over 2021
In these times with inflation and all, something like Gamepass and Series S are bound to become more popular.

For the children of the korn.
Re: Trademark Renewal Sparks Hope For A New The Evil Within Game
Great. I personally like them better than RE7 and the 2 latest remakes.
Village is more or less on par with Tango's offerings, though.
