Perhaps I can finally get that Champions League title for Hartlepool through Game Pass. Hope there’s a way to carry forward my file, I’ve spent too much time getting that Premier League title.

This is pretty cool to be honest. Shame it’s the Touch version but any type of Football Manager on console is welcome.

@Tharsman Yeah, I see a lot of grumblings from ‘gamers’ about this Xbox Series S but it’s a slam dunk for the casual market. They’ll buy whatever they can play the latest FPS/Sports game on and at that price, who’ll pass it up! There’s a lot of nonsense from ‘gamers’ anyway but this situation has just shows the ones who are too far up their own arse to think of casual players as anything less than scum. And they’re usually the ones who go to see superhero movies in the cinema and complain about ‘movie elitists’ 😉

@Tharsman Recently, the next step with these launches is giving the console/game to streamers and the like to build up hype. This is not being done. I’m not much of a doomer with this stuff but the PS5 launch is a bit of a mess even if I’ll end up picking one up eventually.

The Switch was outdated within a year or two of release. There are more factors to consider than raw computing power.

@sixrings You’ll probably find textures will be in 4K but it will output a 1080p image on a 1080p TV. You’ll see benefits.

@BlueOcean I get it but it’s still a wee bit rich for my tastes. £4 a month is a cup of coffee. £8 a month is a direct debit.

@Ralizah I absolutely agree about the blandness. It just screams ‘dark’ anime to me, and by ‘dark’ I mean it has a boohoo story where they inexplicably kill off a party member because it makes it gritty. Still though, it’s the FFXIV producers and that’s a good sign.

@Octane Yep, Game Pass PC’s already doubled the price so I’m not looking forward to how expensive the market’s getting. It’s bizarre, there’s more MTX than ever yet the price of games upfront is increasing?

I love being a PC owner, now I can play both the Xbox and PS5 exclusives! I’ll probably pick up a PS5 for Demon’s Souls though.

Last year’s soundtrack was brilliant, with Underworld, Sharon Van Etten and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. This year’s one is worse but I appreciate Jessie Ware getting in there, her album this year is one of the best so far. Other than that, not too many choons. Sunspear is an absolute bop though, top choon.

@InterceptorAlpha It’s more that every gun felt like a pea shooter. Enemies barely flinch and just keel over after you hit them a bit. At least in games like DOOM, the guns feel like you’re actually shooting them. Destiny has great gunplay as well, despite the GaaS nonsense.

I tried Reach when it came to Game Pass but the guns felt really weird like they had no heft to them. I might give the games another go once they all land on PC.

I really hope they use this tech to deliver Xbox and Xbox 360 games on Windows, that would be brilliant.

Something like Persona 5 would be a big deal. The work they’ve done with Sega to secure Yakuza means the relationship’s in place.

@RedShirtRod Ah well, I’m sure certain circles will be very happy with Oracle being the victors, the boss is a big supporter of the Wotsit-in-chief after all.

@Tharsman Yeah, as a student, I naturally would defer to his better judgement as he clearly knows what he’s talking about. I do think the RAM in this machine will cause a bottleneck in a couple of years. That being said, the comments have felt a little biased to me.

There’s a dev who comments on Push Square who’s been very vocal about how terrible the Series S is and how it’s a nightmare for them as it splits the optimisation pipeline. I can see both sides.

@PretendWorking I really like the service and yeah, it’s a steal at £4 a month but I don’t think I play the games quite enough to justify the £8. Perhaps if the EA thing includes all the Sims 4 expansions and the Mass Effect games.

It’s incredible, being able to spot areas you know irl is crazy. It really just feels like you’re flying around real life if the lighting’s right. Well, other than Buckingham Palace looking like an Ikea.

Ahh I’m sad, this is my only connection to the Xbox brand but it’s now a bit expensive for my tastes. Not sure I’ll keep it up now.

Does the release difference affect the Windows Store version on PC or just the Steam release? This might be the first Yakuza game I don’t play on Playstation at this rate!
