Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Volume 1 of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection would be coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S this October, and now it looks like we also know more details about Volume 2!
Twitter user Nitroid spotted this week that Konami had added placeholder buttons for Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid V to the MGS website, as you can see down below:
Following this, IGN went on record to say that it understands the lineup is correct for Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2. This would mark the first time that Metal Gear Solid 4 has ever been available in Xbox in any capacity!
Obviously we don't know anything about a release date yet, but we'll be keeping an eye out over the coming weeks and months — we're assuming this one will be a 2024 release, but who knows if Konami has a surprise in store for us!
Happy with this leaked lineup? Let us know down in the comments section below.

Interesting if true. I played MGS4, but not really any of the others in the series so maybe it's a good chance to try them out. Often I get very frustrated with stealth games though.
I think if vol1 sells well they'll work on releasing vol2. I think.
Konami, if you do this, I’ll buy the collection twice. Xbox and Switch. Please make this a reality!
Also, if you’re listening, bring out the Castlevania DS collection too! Preferably with the mods that remove the touch aspects instead of remapping it.
Would be great if they could finish MGSV as part of the collection!
Metal Gear Solid 4 on current gen would be amazing. Played the game a few months back, I still enjoy it but man I completely forgot the frame rate tanks whens there's a lot of action going on. I reckon PS5/XBSX should be able to play it at a locked frame rate.
MGS4 is the worst one in the series for me. The cutscenes bordered on small movies in terms of length and there are so many just plain cheesy and goofy moments towards the end that I just barely got there. Before you ask- yeah, I played all MGS games and know Kojima's style. To think I bought a PS3 back in the day for this... Still, it's good to know it won't be limited to PS3 only soon.
I would love to play MGS 4 on xbox. That would be a dream
@themightyant With Kojima gone, that sounds like a real monkeys paw wish. 😂
@SplooshDmg It 99.9999% is. lol
But there is always a chance the circumstances fit and unbelievable things will happen. While it was a Kojima game a thousand people were credited on it, many would know the direction that was intended and may be able to piece together the work in progress, with a will. But it's Konami...
Like Winds of Winter, Doors of Stone, Ninjai and a few other things I (foolishly) forever hold out hope we'll see a proper conclusion.
Wait a minute. I just confirmed myself that the two original Metal Gear games are included in the Xbox 360 version of 3 and that Snake's Revenge is just an alternative and inferior NES sequel. That leaves Portable Operations as the only stealth game in the series not belonging to any of the two collections or did I miss something?
@themightyant I mean, didn't pretty much all those people just leave with Kojima, though? When Kojima himself broke up with Konami, the entire studio broke up with Konami. I'm also entirely of the opinion that Kojima basically is MGS. There aren't many franchises I think exist entirely because of one person, but I def think MGS is one of them.
@SplooshDmg Don't spit on my dreams. 🤣
@themightyant I will absolutely spit on your monkey paw dreams. The true ending of that game is best left in my imagination. Lol
@Banjo- There's Metal Gear Acid 1&2 on PSP, Ghost Babel on GB and Twin Snakes on Gamecube.
@Solidchief Right but Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2 aren't stealth games, are they? Not including The Twin Snakes is sad because it's the definitive version of 1, I have it on Gamecube. It was the first Metal Gear game I played. I had forgotten the GB game.
Yh the Acid games are a weird turn based card games that play nothing like the others. I played Twin Snakes on the Dolphin emulator (since the physical copy is very expensive) and really enjoyed it.
A lot of the fans slag it off for being over the top and Hollywood like, which I find ironic since the entire series is over the top. They fail to realise the game is a remake so of course it's gonna have differences from the original.
@Solidchief I don't blame you, I do that too. I also liked the game. It was part of Player's Choice on Gamecube so actually it was half-priced when I got it 😁.
@Utena-mobile I was confused so I had to write the chronological order:
CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER:
1964 3
1970 PORTABLE OPS
1974 PEACE WALKER
1975 5: GROUND ZEROES
1984 5: THE PHANTOM PAIN
1995 METAL GEAR
1999 METAL GEAR 2
2005 1/THE TWIN SNAKES
2007/09 2
2014 4
2018 REVENGEANCE
The creator of these games is getting zero dollars from these two volumes. You are giving your money to the company that chased him away and cursed us from never getting any new metal gear games
Fingers crossed these games do make it to volume 2. I love this series but I unfortunately never had the chance to play the first Metal Gear Solid. Looking forward to it and if volume 2 comes out, I can finally play MGS4. Two games I always wanted to play. Very exciting!
Sounds like I should buy MGSV in a future sale sooner rather than later before a potential delisting.
