Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 101

Redpizzi

Well that's an interesting question, cause I don't know. Gave this years FIFA another go, normally clock up 400+ hours in these games, but this year I struggle to get though a game without getting bored.
So decided to give a few other games a go, first up was Killer Instinct which I actually enjoyed, not a fan of button bashing games, but enjoyed a good hour or so on that.
Gave the GOW 4 beta a switch on an then a quick switch off. Leave that one well alone
Mirrors Edge beta also got a quick uninstall.
Also Smite, Magic Duels got a quick test, but no not my thing anymore. I'm getting old and getting lazy.
So decided right now it's time to try out Starpoint Gemini 2, been really looking forward to this. I remember my old Elite and Frontier days on the Amiga and wanted/hoped this would be similar, but the intro took so long to get into, and the menu screens meant I had to think about stuff. So put that on the back burner for this weekend, need something simple today.
The Division has lost its interest, with lack of online friends for this game and so many glitches, just find I rush instead of cover.
So never been a Halo fan, and getting a free copy of Halo 5 : Guardians, I think it's time to find out what Master Chief John has to offer. If this fails like the last Halo Games, I am going to be in Gaming Limbo.

Like most people on here have said, I too don't like watching other people play games for hours on end, that's why I follow only 1 Twitch streamer. And thats Pure Xbox. And most of the time I am playing my own game at the same time. I watch for an idea of the game that is been shown, and because the video commentary, chat and communication with PX mods, Ken and the other chatters is great. Only once have I seen an ass in chat. And they were quickly banned.

The only question I could not answer was the first one, I don't think more AAA or more Indie. I would like to read a review on any game that is coming out. I will admit that a lot of the indie titles are not my kind of thing, but watching your streams does help me spot potential indie title that I might be interested in.
I know in gaming they is always lots to do, lots of news, lots of information, and AAA titles tend to need little reviews with Alpha and Beta access for so many people now a days, but it's great to get a trustworthy opinion, I watch your streams because I like the streamers, I read the reviews because I like the writers.
A few examples of PureXBOX helping me choose a game.
1) Rocket League - if you had not played this on your streams I wouldn't have bought it.
2) Far Cry Primal - not liked far cry since the first one, and watching your stream helped me decided I'm not buying this one.
3) Fortified - looked a fun game during your streams, and the daughter wants it, I'm buying this one.

Thank you

Re: Is Microsoft Looking To Break The Console Cycle?

I was a massive massive PC gamer. From when I traded in my SNES in my Teens, and bought a PC, to building a new PC every other month using it and selling it for profit over and over again.
But then my familt started growing and I decided to jump back on the console wagon to save money and time trying to have the latest PC, at the end of the PS2 life. Moved into PS3 and then found the amazing Xbox 360.
Never looking back at the PC days and though I miss that. Just love knowing if a game come out it work.
Not having to worry about FPS, not having to worry if I had enough Ram or Cpu speed. Just happy to sit down press a button and jump in.
If they do start to mix things up and do start releasing hardware upgrades, i cannot see me sticking with it for too long.

Still not bought the latest DLC. I think £40 is far too much for a DLC pack. Really wanted to play this game, but skint after Forza 6, FIFA 16, and the upcoming Tomb Raider and COD:BO. I think I might just hold off till the price drops to £20.
