@Tharsman that’s a good point. It would be wild if there was that significant of a difference on day one, though it would secure Xbox as the premiere console for third party games.
I love all of these graphic setting options! Hope more games do that moving forward; though it’s disappoint that the 4K mode is only 30fps. I think I’ll stick with the 60/120fps options.
So what do y’all think? 4K 120fps or 1440p 120fps for the Series X? I think they would not stop bragging about it they could achieve that frame rate at 4K. I really don’t we will see many 4K/120 games for the first year or so.
That said; I’m really looking forward to this game! The footage last week of the ice race at night with all the confetti looked really good!
Realistically for day one; Dirt 5 and then some backwards compatible games like Panzer Dragoon and Ninja Gaiden Black. Later I’ll check out Yakuza, it looks like silly fun with the turn based combat.
I think I’ll try them all. A Breath of the wild-type experience seems like a good way to enjoy a new console. And I love Trials and snowboarding games so Riders could be fun. I enjoyed Steep but it was a little too open ended and didn’t really have a disc to personality, so this might be a good direction for the series!
@Friendly So True! It’s wild how different the perception is from right after Halo got delayed until now. Kinda neat to see how different the strategies between Microsoft and Sony are this generation. This week has me way more excited. I think one way they could continue to build hype would be to tweet out and spotlight one or two new backwards compatible Xbox/360 games that are getting updates on series X just to remind people of all the options they will have to play on launch day.
I downloaded the app and clicked on the email notification button in my profile. So I hope that’s all I have to do. Didn’t get an email yet, but I sure would love a free Xbox. Wonder if these are rigged by the organized crime syndicates like the McDonalds Monopoly game was 🤔
This is may be the first game I’ll play on the series x. Going to show off the power of the machine nicely with the 120fps mode. And the series is so much fun.
Series X for me. I’m excited to put some 20 year old Xbox discs in and play 4K versions. I skipped the Xbox one, but backwards compatibility has me coming back. I also have a decent Gaming laptop. But now that I have to use it for work, I honestly would rather have a dedicated console for games that I don’t have to unplug constantly. Also, fidgeting with settings on PC to get older games running can be such a pain and time sink. With game pass, I don’t feel like it’ll cost me too much to try out games I missed out on last generation.
@blinx01 This may be my most anticipated Series X “Launch title”. Racing games are a good way to show off the shiny new graphics of a new console. I’m also thinking 120 FPS is most likely for a lower resolution, and 60 for 4K. I’m really interested to see how many graphics modes/options are available. My new TV does 120hz up to 1440p so hopefully the game will support that. Though obviously 4K at 120 would be super impressive.
I wonder if they will let us know when the series X update will drop. I’m pretty sure I remember hearing it won’t b available at launch, but it’s going to be hard to wait around for it!
Breath of the Wild Witcher 3 Cyberpunk Skyrim Spider-Man
Basically the biggest sellers that are primarily solo games is my bet. However I’d WANT to see some less popular stuff like Sunset Overdrive, Blur, and the burnout series
If this is anything like Kid icarus Uprising It could be amazing! If it does well, maybe Nintendo will make a sequel to uprising, which would be great.
Will this be getting a series X upgrade? It’d be nice if it was ready to take advantage of the new hardware when it launches. Then they could add it to the list of launch titles.

Re: Guide: How Do Backwards Compatible Games Work On The Xbox Series S/X?
@Bobobiwan I have my JSRF disc ready to go! I want all the sega OG Xbox games:
Monkey Ball
Crazy Taxi 3
Out Run 2
I’d even be willing to try Gun Valkyrie again with these fancy upgrades.

I like this article! It’ll help me pick up some of these title for cheap while I wait for the new console.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Would You Like Enhanced For Xbox Series X?
So many! Backwards compatibility is one of the main reasons I want the series X. I’d like to see:
Jet Set Radio Future
All the CAVE shooters
Sunset Overdrive
Rare Replay
Dead or Alive Series
Crazy Taxi 3
Beautiful Katamari
I like the goofy stuff
