While I have fond memories of Halo, even during 343's direction...I've lost all trust with them and their vision. Either they deliberately misunderstood the audience or flat out ignored them, Halo became a true appeal-to-everybody that satisfied almost nobody.
•Big Team Battle was down for too long. •Players would have enjoyed a better Free progression system. •Forge and Co--op are a bigger draw than 343 realized.
There is way more to nitpick about, without saying.
@BrilliantBill The problem originated from MS. They had such an iron grip on the lore that it turned off the likes of Peter Jackson and and a then-unknown Neil Blomkamp. The rights got downgraded to a TV series which was floated for a long time. Probably too long as the hype for this is long-gone. It'll be a 6 hour commercial the way it's going.
I liked it and don't understand why it was removed. Maybe because apps like Youtube would never allow it as "background play" is considered a Premium feature now.
Story-wise, you may not have to play 1 to enjoy 2. My biggest criticism is the human AI is a bit dated & dumb. Otherwise, the first game is quite thrilling and fun in an otherwise cliche genre. I'm going to wait-and-see and buy 2 after the first round of DLC releases. There's so much DLC for 1 that I didn't even finish it yet.
Those are some informative points made, but I personally can’t accept that there won’t be another model released ~2024. Whether it provides performance upgrades or a slimmer chassis - I speculate that there will be something to keep the design team busy until then. There has to be something to allure the late-adopters even if it’s just a lower price point because the launches have underachieved.
@Krzzystuff Chipsets and throughput evolve. With compatibility as the latest focus, refreshes are all but guaranteed. The 360 did it, the One did it, and even Playstation did it.

Re: Phil Spencer: 343 Remains 'Critically Important' To The Success Of Halo
Bonnie Ross cared more about her career than the devotion of real fans, and it shows.

Re: Reaction: Can 343 Industries Deliver On What's Right For Halo?

Re: Halo Live-Action Producer Talks About Steven Spielberg's Involvement
For 15 years now, a video project based on Halo has been floated around way past the game's popularity bubble.
Promises, promises.

They copied that scene straight from the gates of Kattegat on the Vikings show.

These deep sales are usually a good indicator of what the next Games with Gold selections will eventually be.

When the Series Pro (or whatever) arrives, I'll replace my original One. I'm that guy.
