Re: Xbox One Price Confirmed by Microsoft

I'm probably not gonna get an Xbox One early on, since I have a lot games for the Wii U I'll have to buy, but I'm a little meh about the price. Looks like Nintendo won't have to worry too much about a price drop since the One isn't $400 like people expected.

@VincentV If it does it in stand-by mode, I don't think it'll affect people who have slow internet, but rather people who have unreliable internet that doesn't always stay connected. That means there's a lot of pausing downloads for those people.

Re: Pachter Predicts Xbox One Will Sell Out at Launch

I see Pachter as hopelessly optimistic, unless it comes to Nintendo of course.

I really don't think casuals will suddenly flock to these consoles. Nor will all the "core gamers", because almost each console launch becomes less generally exciting than the last.

He's expecting these consoles (except for the Wii U) to be Wii selling consoles. Wii selling consoles People are already predicting the end of consoles, or even the end of gaming as we know it, and he thinks they'll be Wii selling consoles??

I wish I had that kind of optimism.

Re: Editor's Opinion: Xbox One

You brought up a lot of points that I forgot, due to hearing so many doom & gloom rants. Isn't that the stuff Nintendo gets all the time? Seriously, I never expected people to declare doom & gloom for the One already and declare the PS4 the deity of this generation. People are underestimating the One. the Wii U, the manufacturer's (i.e. Microsoft), and the average consumer.

The hardware appeals to me a lot more than the PS4, expecially since they didn't go with streaming, but they did go with recording. I still need to know more about the exclusives, though.

As for the name. Plenty of people are calling it dumb, but Nintendo named theirs the Wii U. Both names are what the console represents I suppose.
