Bethesda's Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake Will Reportedly Shadow Drop Next Week

Update []: Well, it's definitely a real game! Screenshots for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion "Remastered" have appeared on developer Virtuos's website. You'll find more details and a glimpse at the new images elsewhere on Pure Xbox:

Original Story: Right, okay, we have another tidbit of Oblivion remake information to bring to you today - despite the reported re-release being in the headlines for months at this point. Now, according to industry reporter Jeff Grubb, Bethesda's remake of The Elder Scrolls IV will shadow drop in the week commencing April 21st.

Talking on a new episode of Giant Bomb's GameBreaking News show, Grubb says that he's "gotten separate confirmation" that the Oblivion remake is arriving next week, with the game seemingly still set to be a 'shadow drop' from Bethesda and Microsoft.

I'll give people a week now... the week of April 21st. So, basically the last week of this month [...] it should shadow drop then, which I think other people have said but I've gotten separate confirmation that that's going to be the case. So, shadow drop last week of the month...

Of course, we've heard about the game's planned shadow drop release once or twice before, and it was even expected much earlier in the month at one point. It's safe to say that lots of insider sources have been hearing about this one for a while, so we just hope that Grubb & co. are more accurate with this latest information. We can't wait much longer!

As for the nature of the remake itself, it's long been reported that MGS Delta studio Virtuos is at the helm, and that the Xbox 360 classic is set for a pretty extensive Unreal Engine 5 overhaul when it finally arrives on Xbox Series X and S.
