Yesterday's gameplay reveal for Battlefield 6 may have been light on actual gameplay, but we did get lots of other details about the upcoming EA title, including its new testing program Battlefield Labs. However, some additional details were also shared with journalists and content creators who attended an online presentation for the game - and that briefing seems to have confirmed that 'Battlefield Portal' will return in BF6.
Prominent Battlefield YouTuber Flakfire revealed in a new video that EA & DICE plans to bring back Battlefield Portal for the upcoming BF title. The content creator seemed surprised that the team confirmed this addition, despite not mentioning it in yesterday's public reveal.
"Lastly, we got surprising confirmation in the briefing that Portal will be making a return with the next Battlefield title.
You might recall this is one of the things I expected would be carried over from Battlefield 2042, but I honestly did not expect to get confirmation on that so soon.
The devs said Portal could be one of those 'slices' tested under the Battlefield Labs program."
If you don't remember exactly what Battlefield Portal is, well, it was introduced as an in-game toolset for adding classic Battlefield content to the team's last release - 2042. There were a bunch of maps and modes from Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 included, and that content was then featured in various different playlists within 2042 - bringing some fan-favourite additions to the futuristic title.
For now, we're not sure exactly what classic content will be packed into the Battlefield 6 version of Portal, but it's good to hear that this feature is returning nonetheless. If nothing else, Portal will add some nice variety to the main BF6 experience, and we should hear more about it — and the upcoming game generally — in the coming weeks and months.

Good news! It sounds like this game is shaping up nicely.
Keep the news coming, anything 😃 I love the Battlefield games.
So long as they actually do it right this time and provide some content with updates. There was so much potential for portal on BF2042 and it was forgot about.
Lets hope they can hit this hard from day one. BF is one of the only shooters that can rival CoD (or at least remain relevant in its shadow) through being distinct and different.
@Kaloudz I feel Battlefield (especially 3 and 4) surpass any modern call of duty game. Full stop.
as long as it will be men at war without pink ladies and pronouns and those stupid heroes
@GuyinPA75 I came in to the series at (was it?) Battlefield 1? The one based during the Great War.
@Kaloudz Think that was the WWI offering?
I feel they changed too much of how ticket system worked, compared to Battlefield 3 and 4. I'm strictly ONLY a Conquest mode person. So that really effects my experience for sure.
Plus weaponry and armor from WWI time period not my thing. Feels too slow and lulls in action compared to modern day. But if someone loves WWI and able look past ticket system, I can definitely see their appeal for it.
But another big factor for me was how the squad classes really didn't synergize enough for benefit of squad for me, either. Battlefield 3 and 4 felt much better.
Granted, the above are all my takes. Considering how Battlefield 1 and 5 and 2042, went over with people, doubt I'm in minority on those.
Halo should've had the same game plan at launch! Transparency like this is great so people don't speculate and it manages people's expectations
@GuyinPA75 I think the only thing that confused me so much about battlefield was the bullet drop. The first time I experienced that I thought I was having an aneurysm, not understanding why my bullet wasn't connecting in the same way that it did in call of duty. Lol it took some getting used to. I may have to do go back and play some of the other battlefield games based on what you've said.
