Lego City has always caught my eye. Is it any good (compared to the likes of the more legacy Lego games - Indy 2 etc..).
@Kaloudz
hello.
In my modest opinion Lego City Undercover is one of the best (if not the best) Lego games.
I finished it a long time ago on the Switch.
it's an open world game, and feel an play different from the other Lego games.
I'm pretty confident you will enjoy it.
@Pigrotto Heyyyy 🙂 thanks my friend!! Yeah that's what's pulling me in, the way it looks pretty different compared to layered levels. I'll pick it up. Would be rude not to at that price, eh?
Have you play the XCOM games, @Kaloudz. Of the games I have played, in my opinion they are probably the best games onn that list...
@Fiendish-Beaver I haven't brother. That's the ones that are tactical based ain't they? I've heard they're tough to get through for laymen folk like myself 😅 is it hard?
It's definitely hard on the hardest difficulties, @Kaloudz, but if you've never played a game like it, then I would suggest going in on easy for your first run anyway. It's turn-based, so you can battle at your own pace, but for me, they are two of the games I have enjoyed the most. I absolutely love them. Oh! And I have not completed them on the hardest difficulties either, because they are pretty hardcore. However, easy or normal, and they are great fun.
If you have never played a game like it, then a good starting point would be Gears Tactics, which is 'free' on the Game Pass, but again, you would want to start on easy (though with that game I have completed it on Insane, though I absolutely love Gears of War😂). The XCOM games are always on sale for a similar price (if not the same price), so if you wanted to see whether you liked the style of game, then Gears Tactics is a good starting point...
@Fiendish-Beaver Thanks so much my man. To be honest I've seen Gears Tactics whilst I've been looking for something to play. I knew it was a different type of Gears game but I didn't know it was 'that' type of game. I'll have to download it and give it a smash - see if it's anything I can get behind. I'm pretty sure I'll suck though 🤣 I'm about as tactical as Earnest P Worrell.
@Kaloudz I think Lego City Undercover is one of the best Lego games it's a cross between Lego and GTA with a saturday morning cartoon like story. Very hammy, but that's why I liked it. Light entertainment with fun gameplay. Perhaps a bit basic, but you could say that of all the Lego games.
I noticed Bleeding Edge there. I didn't realise that game was still going. I remember reading that Ninja Theory stopped supporting/updating it pretty quickly and just assumed they'd shut the servers off since then. That was an interesting game but I lost interest in it soon after it released. Plus its aesthetic and characters were ugly as sin.
@Kaloudz
My wife said to say, "No, and I have definitely not played a ridiculous amount of time 100%-ing it on multiple platforms."
So there's that.
@Kaloudz
you are welcome.
have fun and a great Sunday ☀️
Alright alright Xbox, I will finally buy XCOM and let it sit in my backlog after doing a 30 min tutorial 😭 wish more games would just let us into the action like From Software does. Get murked. Have fun.
@Kaloudz Daaang! Bustin' out the Ernest reference. I doubt half the people on here know who you're talking about, hahaha!
@themightyant @Markatron84 Thanks guys (and thanks to Mrs. Markatron too). I picked it up. I've not yet given it a smash as I'm playing NG2B but as soon as I am done with that, I'll give it a whirl. Can you imagine a Lego GTA tho O_o
@Pigrotto Right back at you my man
@FarmDog08 Did I just show my age? I was gunna go Mr Bean but thought I'd go just that little bit further back lol.
@Kaloudz yeah, that's taking it back, hahaha. Tell Vern I said "Hey!"
I picked up Chronos Before the Ashes, the prequel to the Remnant games.
@Kilamanjaro unlike Dark Souls, your XCOM characters permanently die. Do the tutorial, lol.
@FarmDog08 LOL, will do! Say hi to Billy Connolly for me in return.
Is there a demo for XCOM, @Kilamanjaro?
@Jenkinss that's totally fine, I've played Fire Emblem 3 Houses and I play Hunt Showdown pretty regularly, so perma death is my best friend for learning 😂
@Fiendish-Beaver I want to say there is somewhere or maybe I tried it on a Free Play Days weekend once.
