Microsoft has released patch notes for a new Xbox Insider update, and this one contains some interesting console changes coming from Team Green. We've got new Store notification options and controller calibration features, but also some major changes to the way custom gamerpics work.
As detailed in the patch notes and elaborated on by Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie, the process of adding and editing custom gamerpics is now "more consistent", and you can create them from your own screenshots and achievement art. Also, if you want to upload a totally custom picture, the team has lowered the required image resolution to use that feature.
As we mentioned up at the top, the team has also added a new Xbox Store option that allows users to enable or disable deal notifications for when games get discounted, alongside an option to re-calibrate triggers where users have replaced a controller's circuit board - which seems like a helpful feature considering it focuses on non-Microsoft controller modifications.
Feel free to check out the direct Xbox Insider link down below for more specific details on all of these changes. For now, the update is live for the Insider program's Alpha ring - and it will become available for all Xbox users in the coming weeks.
Will you make use of any of these new Xbox features? Talk to us about 'em down below.

This will definitely not result in bans at all probably.
What???? I Have been using custom images from screenshots for YEARS now. You just upload it on the xbox app.
Look me up gamertag is: HeavyHoggJP
@HeavyHoggJP I never noticed you can upload a custom pics before, thanks for the heads up.
Has it always been on the xbox app?
@johnK I have been doing it for atleast 4 years i feel like maybe longer. I just google a picture then screenshot it and upload.
@HeavyHoggJP Apart from the pic needs to be at least 512 x 512 pixels
Hopefully it expands the minimum requirement size for pics. Tried to use pics in the past that looked great, but would always get a message saying needs be, such and such MB.
Very frustrating.
@johnK Thank you. Just posted that. Lol. They need to allow smaller pic sizes.
You can't from the console, but you've been able to from tht app as long as I can remember. It will be nice to add it.from console finally.
Awesome update! Now if only i could see more of my background for the dashboard...
