Hogwarts Legacy has been a huge success for Warner Bros over the last 18 months or so, with the game selling like crazy on Xbox since its launch back in Feb. It's no surprise, then, that the publisher sees a sequel as "one of its biggest priorities" in the next few years.
This revelation comes from outlet Variety, which shared a quote from WBD CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels at a recent convention. Wiedenfels sees a big opportunity for "significant growth" on the back of this planned Hogwarts Legacy sequel.
"Obviously, a successor to ‘Hogwarts Legacy’ is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road,
So there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that business in our strategic outlook here."
Although developer Avalanche has always said it had no major DLC plans for the game, the team has updated Hogwarts Legacy over the last year plus, with its most recent content drop arriving back in June. Gotta recoup those suicide squad losses.
The existing game is on sale now (70% off!), but unfortunately not the deluxe edition.
Watch them turn this into a nightmare.
@InheritNegative Oh of course.
Seeing how WB is ran, you KNOW their takeaway was "Huh, DC doesn't sell. Guess we'll do a Harry Potter Live Service instead."
Thsy being said, I wouldn't be opposed to like how Kakarot does it.
Kakarot is single player. Came out in 2020, and has had DLC out as recently as February of this year. Preferably without the horrendous Xbox support though. Achievements still broke on the Series S/X version.
