Even though we've been hearing about it for years at this point, it was only last month's Game Awards show that delivered a proper look at Xbox's Hideo Kojima collaboration. While finer details of the project are still very much under wraps right now, the enigmatic game creator has teased a little more about 'OD' on Twitter.
Kojima says that he's "been acknowledged" for creating games that go against the grain, and that this Xbox title is "just as different" as any of his past projects. The Metal Gear creator then goes on to mention some of the unique angles that have been tucked into his games over the years.
Weirdly, we don't even really know what type of game OD is at all yet. It's said to heavily involve Xbox's cloud gaming technology, and that the game is almost "a new form of media". Here's Kojima Productions' brief description of what to expect from the title:
"We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game – or rather, a new form of media,” said Hideo Kojima, Game Creator and Founder of KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS."
We don't have any sort of release timeline on OD either, but we're not expecting it to launch anytime soon. Knowing Kojima, his team probably needs time to come up with some crazy marketing stunt to actually launch the game on Xbox as well. Time will tell what this mysterious project ends up playing like, but we're definitely intrigued!
