@Frmknst not nearly as many as I used to but I still buy the ones that interest me. Shadow of the Erdtree, Dragon's Dogma 2, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, I just bought WH40K Daemonhunters during the sale. Those are my purchases this year off the top of my head. I'll definitely preorder Space Marine 2 as well.
@Frmknst I have game pass and bought Starfield. Some games I buy after playing them on game pass So I can keep playing them. Games I have bought this year Dragons dogma 2, BG3 College football, and the Owlcat warhamer game Rouge Trader which is awesome.
@Jenkinss I noticed you listed several Warhamer games Rouge trader is really good I had never been interested in Warhammer anything but if you like crpg's its good.
@Frmknst Yeah. If I can, I buy games, though typically on sale. I don't like losing access to games after a subscription period is over, so I'd rather buy them.
@VisitingComet1 played it and loved it, Owlcat made what is considered by many (including me) the greatest CRPG of all time, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous.
Full dogmatic run listening to the heretics burn with Sister Argenta ❤️
Went to buy saints row 4 and gat out of hell and it wasn't on sale in my region (australia)
@Frmknst Of course, I still buy lots of games, not everything is on Gamepass you know. I see Gamepass more like a nice complement to the games I purchase. A great way to get to try out games I normally wouldn’t have bought, like for example PowerWash Simulator and The Quarry. Both are games I would not have thought of purchasing, but played them thanks to Gamepass and loved them both.
Same with music; I’ve subscribed to Spotify since 2011, but I still purchase lots of music.
@Frmknst if you have game pass then you're still paying to play games and the worst thing about it is you don't even own anything or have anything to show for the money you've spent
@Frmknst owning games is a huge boon for me, especially when I know they'll eventually go on Gamepass and be accessible to others. Better sense of shared experience and connection. As well as a sense of contribution, cause as others have noted. The games go out of Gamepass
Having a library is great. Especially if it's all digital and some random house incident wouldn't destroy. In the future you won't even need an Xbox to access your library as it will be in the cloud. Just some 24 dollar fire stick when it goes on sale and your good to go.
And the library interface is always updated to be sleek and new
@VisitingComet1 considering starfield is by Bethesda it won't be leaving game pass. If you were planning on continuing paying for gamepass. Buying starfield was pointless.
I buy quite a lot of games, but then I'm old and remember VHS lol
@Frmknst I've got PS, SteamDeck as well, so I'm my case Gamepass isn't useful for me in my situation
What, no Agents of Mayhem?
That Sherlock Holmes bundle is a great deal. Three good games with "Chapter One" (a sort of prequel to Holmes' crime solving career) having quite a bit of content in a free roaming city. For less than £9 you can't go wrong.
The sales table is a little misleading. The sales prices are for people who have GP Ultimate. If you don't then the sale doesn't apply.
@Frmknst I refuse to spend money on a game subscription that is as bad as GP Ultimate. Beyond the weekly sales it really doesn't add any value to those who don't play a lot or those who want to replay games years later. It is no different than Gamefly and equivalent services that used to exist(?).
I spend less money in a year on the few games I actually care about then a GP subscription costs. Given that GP is not growing nearly as fast as MS wants it is clear that GP has reached its saturation point. When they shut down Gold then the numbers went up because everybody was converted to GP but as soon as the conversion subscriptions ran out then the numbers started dropping again, based upon the news that I read at the time.
Either MS is going to have to seriously change the benefits to draw more people in or they are going to have to offer better bundles. The cost keeps going up and the benefits aren't keeping up.
@Frmknst Me. I only buy games. I dont like subscription services. Not once in my life I paid for gamepass subscription.
@Frmknst No game since October has you guys all rilled up huh
