Well, we really are almost at the end now! The Xbox 360 store officially closes on July 29th, 2024, and Microsoft has today unveiled the final ever sales list for the store ahead of its closure - there won't be any more after this!
You ready for the bad news? Nothing appears to have been added today. We were expecting a big batch of discounts on July 16th to finish the store off, but instead Microsoft has just combined all the recent sales into a big table.
"This is expected to be the final time we will be updating this list. If any additional changes are made, we’ll update with a new Editor’s Note to remain transparent about any changes that take place."
As part of this, various titles have also been removed from the sales that were previously listed incorrectly. These are Bionic Commando Rearmed 2, Burnout 3: Takedown, Fight Night Round 3, Just Dance Kids 2014, Need For Speed Undercover and Space Invaders Infinity Gene.
So, here's the final list of Xbox 360 store sales ahead of the July 29th closure date:
As we've mentioned before, you'll find games in this list that have since received more modern versions for Xbox One, Series X and Series S, so keep that in mind before buying anything. The large majority of the games mentioned here are not backwards compatible with modern consoles, so that's another thing to be aware of.
For those who are worried about backwards compatible games specifically, anything that's currently purchasable on the modern Xbox Store shouldn't be affected when the Xbox 360 marketplace closes on July 29th.
Although we haven't received any new additions to the list today, Microsoft has at least treated us to a brand-new Xbox 360 'Blades' dynamic background on Series X and Series S - you'll find more details elsewhere on Pure Xbox:
What will you be buying in the final Xbox 360 sale, if anything? Let us know down in the comments below.

So long, old King.
It the final countdown
Really disappointing. Was hoping for COD classic to drop from $20.
Honestly, I think any game that's priced at 5 bucks or less is worth checking out.
@Ade117 yeah for sure. You could pick up a handful of bangers for a few measly dollars.
Awesome that they did this in the first place but I am a little bummed there wasn’t any additions on the 16th like they kinda said there was going to be…
I still might get the Warriors games and maybe the Crash games.
disappointed
It doesn't make any sense. I'm gonna wait for an update from Microsoft before I buy the remaining games I want. If they don't say or do anything about this then I'll just get Riddick and Crash Wrath of Cortex and call it there.
There's a couple games I wouldn't mind getting but I don't know where my 360 is at the moment.
For some reason Microsoft seems to have started taking Ls after acquired Activision. Is their stink contaminating Xbox?
Wow, talk about going out on a wet fart.
Not a bad sale i guess, im grateful they've reduced a decent list of games but i really wanted them to discount the OG Xbox games on the store
Gaming has moved on time to say goodbye!
When is the summer sale starting? Thought it was meant to start today.
They didn't add a single new game for the "part 3" of this sale!!!! Absolutely f-ing unbelieveable...
I bought Bionic Commando Rearmed from Microsoft Xbox Store (via internet), but I have no way to download it. It has a download option on the site, but that doesnt seem to work. I cannot find it from my Series S at all. Store or in My purchased games
oh that backward compat warning should be front and centre for someone like me. Go FAIL me! Yay!
@Utena-mobile There are no JRPGs in this list.
There are a few games on here that are not on the UK 360 store page. Does anyone know if i bought them on the US store whether they would work on a UK 360?
I bought from that page and it translated to UK when I pressed BUY and t went through fine. Although, as I mentioned above, the game I bought turns out it's not back compat
@bowzoid Thanks, i might give it a go on a cheap game, but i better try to buy a second hand 360 console first.
I'm tempted to get Yie Ar Kung-Fu for old times' sake.
PSA though it's not on sale: Eternal Sonata, a JRPG that has never left 360/PS3, is $15. It's not a sale price but it is fairly cheap. I was hoping for so much more in this final sale.
Goodbye 360. You deserved such a better finale.
@bowzoid It's extra annoying because Rearmed 2 IS backwards compatible.
@Nintendo4Sonic it's only on sale via the 360 marketplace or 360 console - I picked it up earlier when the sale started.
@xanderten50 ah ok, thanks for that.
Black is showing up as 9.99 not .99, can anyone else confirm this?
I've brought a tonn of these. What some Xbox 360 only games that people are going to buy? I'm intrigued to hear.
@Arcticpandapopz I pulled the trigger on more than I should have. Eternal Sonata, Tenorman's Revenge, Quantum Theory, I grabbed a few of the Dead Rising games, and RE4 since it never got a physical 360 release. I also jumped at a fair few of the XBLA titles that didn't get BC, on sale or not. Remember Me, Black Knight Sword, War World, Homefront, Zombie Wranglers, Sea Safari, Yar's Revenge, Fancy Pants Adventures... I'm not even a quarter of the way through.
My archivist soul panicked.
@Elbow I did the same. I grabbed Remember me, War World, Yar's revenge and fancy pants adventure.
I had more fun with War World than I was expecting.
I missed Black Knight Sword, that's a game I don't know anything about.
Xbox really should have added more games to its backwards compatible list.
@TheGame004 It is/was only on sale on the 360 marketplace. The Xbox One store's version kept the original 9.99 asking price.
I've been trying to buy stuff from the marketplace, but for some of the titles, the site just locks in a sort of loading animation whenI've chosen my credit card. I've tried different browsers, but it's the same in all of them.
Thing is, SOME of the games work just fine to buy. I did get Exit 2. Choplifter HD or the Meteos Wars DLC however just don't work, I can't pay, which is frustrating, but oh well. I have most of what I want...
