To end its latest broadcast, Capcom shared a new update on its Resident Evil series announcing a new game is now officially in development. While there was no specific mention of the exact game in the works, it's likely referring to the next major numbered entry in the series, which has been rumoured for some time now.

The Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi shared this news, while also confirming he would lead the next project. Unfortunately, he "can't share any details just yet" but believes he's now at a point where he's got a "substantial" idea for this next chapter in the long-running survival-horror series.

The latest game in the series is Resident Evil Village, which was originally released on Xbox platforms in 2021 and is a follow up to RE7. When we hear more details about this next chapter, we'll be sure to let you know.
