Larry Hryb, AKA 'Major Nelson', was the face of Xbox for years before announcing his departure from Microsoft last summer - and now the Xbox legend has revealed his next move in gaming.
He's heading over to the Community team at Unity, which develops one of the industry's leading game engines amongst other bits and pieces in the world of gaming. It sounds like Larry is excited to get back to working with game devs - just as he did over at Xbox!
"I am thrilled to announce that I'm joining the Community team at Unity! Building on my long history as a developer advocate at Xbox, I'm excited to collaborate again with developers, harnessing our collective creativity to shape the future of real-time gaming and experiences. Let's make magic happen!"
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has also replied to Larry's announcement:
Although Larry first departed from Xbox almost a year ago now, he hasn't been totally quiet since then. He often still comments on Xbox and everything going on there - and he also joined Midwest Games as a board member last December.
Anyway, we wish Larry the best of luck in his new role at Unity - we still miss him and how community-focused he proved to be over at Team Xbox!
