Today marks exactly two months until Forza Motorsport hits Xbox Game Pass, and it looks like we're going to get plenty of new information on the game soon as we approach the development finish line. Alongside a tease for "lots more reveals" in the coming weeks, the team at Turn 10 has highlighted eight launch day cars that are brand-new to the series.
Here are those eight cars - and this list could expand by the time we get to launch:
- 2023 Nissan Z
- 2020 Audi RS 3 Sedan
- 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition
- 2020 Toyota GR Supra
- 2019 BMW Z4 Roadster
- 2019 Nissan 370Z Nismo
- 2018 Audi TT RS
- 2017 Alpine A110
Although the new tweet also highlights a few other launch day vehicles, the team's website actually contains a more extensive list of what's been announced so far. Last updated on August 7, the Forza site lists a whole bunch of cars that are confirmed to be arriving on day one.
Of course, this being a closed-circuit racer, tracks are pretty important too. Last weekend, Turn 10 confirmed another launch day location set to feature in Forza Motorsport - making up one of the team's 20 different in-game locales planned for day one this October.
Which of these are you looking forward to taking for a spin? Let us know down below!

Why are they releasing an unfinished game?
@Dan1283 They're not!
Horizon 5 has new cars added to the game every month for example. They've already said that this game is going to get new cars and content on a regular basis.
Some people just seem to want to hate on Xbox games for the sake of it... I wonder why that is... 🤔
I hope all future cars won’t be paid DLC and they do similar to GT7 giving free cars (then extra with paid packs).
I also hope the list grows as that’s not a lot of new cars in there. Along side not a lot of tracks.
I’m really looking forward to it but I hope it’s not half a game with a lot of dlc
@pip_muzz well I aren't fanboy at all I have both systems so if you think I'm a Sony fanboy you're wrong but I just tell the truth
@Dan1283 Then please do explain what about this game is unfinished? If it's the fact that they're planning to continually update it with cars then that just seems factually incorrect.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner
I also hope the list grows as that’s not a lot of new cars in there. Along side not a lot of tracks
On the Forza site it reads that the game will launch with over 500 cars and 20 rebuilt tracks. With future content added on a regular basis.
I'm not quite sure what your concerns are, did you expect FM to launch with 800-900 cars and 70-80 tracks?...Predictably is all too normal to just pummel anything Xbox related these days...
@pip_muzz
Some people just seem to want to hate on Xbox games for the sake of it... I wonder why that is... 🤔
Surely you are not speculating that being a fanboy is one of the possible reason, right?😉
@Sol4ris 😂🤣 Of course not...😆
This game just seems to be causing negativity with a certain group of people and I've no idea why?
The only negative thing about the game is it's Single Player always online. The fact that the people being negative about the game don't point out that fact is because GT7 does the same.
It just seems people hold Xbox games to ridiculous standards these days
*Hi-fi Rush is great, but it's not AAA (Who cares when it's this good)
*20 tracks aren't enough for Forza (Essentially as many in an F1 game)
*Starfield isn't 60FPS (despite it being the biggest RPG yet and Zelda is 30FPS)
*Games with Gold was amazing (really, who's missing those games?!)
Forza Motorsport could be the best driving game of all time and these people would still find a way to put the game down.
@pip_muzz
Right and well observed 🙂.
and @ Starfield isn't 60FPS (despite it being the biggest RPG yet and Zelda is 30FPS)
I predict that 95% of the comments when Starfield releases will be about how people will play BG3 on PS5 and how incredibly amazing it is compared to Starfield etc, atc. Even if it's a apples to bananas comparison😁.
All i want to know is how the career mode is. I'm not a HUGE Forza Motorsports fan (prefer Horizon) but if they do a great single player I must just stick around for awhile.
@Sol4ris sigh. I went off the article where it clearly states 8 new cars to the series. I was personally kinda hoping there may have been more than 8 new cars.
I’ve stated many times I’m looking forward to this one, after such a long period since the last FM. I haven’t pummelled a single thing.
But sure you do you. I don’t know why some people take criticism (which this wasn’t) against their favourite plastic box so hard.
@Sol4ris @pip_muzz GT7 got absolutely destroyed by pretty much everyone on release last year…the metacritic user score dropped to something like 3. Exactly the same criticisms were levelled at it and more so tbh I think your both being a bit over sensitive on the whole “Microsoft can’t catch a break” rhetoric. This is the internet and people are entitled to their opinions. Just because it’s an Xbox site does not mean everyone has to be 100% positive on it 24/7.
Despite it not being the complete package though, GT7 went on to be my most played game of last year and one of my fav racing games of all time. I expect Forza will do everything bigger, better and shinier though so Im looking forward to sinking as much, if not more time into this over the next 12 months as I’ve always preferred it over GT. I’m probably more pumped about this than Starfield overall.
As it's on Game Pass I'll give this a try probably, but it just seems like Horizon, but without the fun.
@PsBoxSwitchOwner If you go into the Motorsport section on the Forza website, it states there will be over 100 new-to motorsport cars. This was just a teaser for the first few I think
Here, I've copied and pasted for you:-
COLLECT AND CUSTOMIZE YOUR CARS
Forza Motorsport will launch with over 500 cars to collect and customize, more than 800 performance upgrades, over 100 new-to-Motorsport cars, and the most modern race cars we've ever featured on our roster.
@wazza99999 thanks for that. Like I replied earlier I just went off what PX box said. I thought 8 felt low.
@GeeEssEff Very fair comment! Without GT there'd also be no Forza and I'm definitely a fan of both series as well.
Maybe I went a bit overboard, but with people commenting saying the game is "releasing unfinished" it does feel like it's less of an opinion and more of a trolling.
Whereas your opinion was well worth reading 👍 I'm hoping FM will be better than GT7 but GT7 got the handling and core gameplay pretty perfect.
I'm hoping it's like the 360/PS3 days where both Forza and GT push the other series to be better again.
@pip_muzz 👍👍 Just give me actual time trials where I can compete online with friends and randos and I will be a happy happy man! I still can’t believe GT7 is always online but has no permanent time trial boards, just the stupid weekly ones and the circuit experiences. I can’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure Forza used to do this.
Agreed as well about the handling and gameplay. The fact that they absolutely nailed the feeling of circuit driving was pretty much the only thing that saved GT at launch 😂. Insane microtransactions, always online (with plenty of downtime in first few weeks), restrictive multiplayer options, crap music, ridiculously low payouts and a phoned in career mode….but my god was it still fun to play simply for the actual driving. Turn10 will smash it out the park if they can get the physics right. I have every faith in them.
I really want to play online. Keyword: want.
Unless they find a way to actively punish and/or outright ban the players that purposefully play the game like it's a demolition derby (especially at start of the race) I find the game completely unplayable online.
Honestly tired of people purposely destroying other players' experiences just to glitch, exploit, or cheat in a video game. And that is for any and all games.
Fair cars.
The game only bothers me (menus, upgrade system unclear, online required I just need clarity on what the game 'is' that's it) as the career isn't clear to me yet. I mean GT7 advertising was bad, nostalgia lying because Sony loves the nostaglia focus and it's hilarious to do now. And FM8/reboot/Series trailers show montages and tell me nothing. The expands helped but I'm still confused what the game offers of progression and content/flow of the game in singleplayer at all.
If the online requirement is as far as GT Sport sure it was good enough for enough access even if no saving without the server I can still access to a good enough point in the game, if it's as bad as GT7 locking a lot out then no thanks.
I got confused with FM6 footage and the game had been out for years. No one wants to show menus so you can see why I would get confused. Reviews or footage people always show the cars and when they do show the menus they don't explain them at all/break them down at all. So you get lost. If I don't see the menus/career structure I don't pick up a racing game. The physics, tracks and car list can be whatever.
The upgrades why a second currency? It isn't that bad. I can see a reason for it. IF it's easy to obtain then by all means I don't mind it. I am not sure how it works but I do find it a bit awkward. If it's like GT7 'blueprints/invites' for cars they can get stuffed. If it's just a currency that's 'easy' to get then 'fine' by me but otherwise I barely upgrade cars in Forza games anyway because the cars are auto tuned rewards or even when I buy a car and set the difficulty I'm good (higher difficulties I've tried but I mean I can't upgrade a car in the intros if the difficulty is high can I so it doesn't work for me there) and if grinding/upgrades are needed then eh..... I just leave the difficulty at normal.
If they are gating them to stop people upgrading too early or to ridiculous numbers I can see why by that logic but depends on what you can tweak, what the limits are for car classes the events allow for, I tried in FM6 and went oh ok a little bit then just bought the best stock car instead to save money and time instead and ignore the system entirely XD (balance is key or else the development needs some work on some systems) and ruining races sure.
(I get it people may be able to in singleplayer/multiplayer if the devs do bad design and don't work around it.
I get people beat old GT games (can't say for Forza as much they are pretty tight on what is required for events) with the wrong cars but I mean if the game has limits so weak that's why, a 300HP limit isn't much compared to a one make, a tire limit, drivetrain and so on.
We have other restrictions or openness these days for event types of course or just 'FM6 car classes and that's literally it no technical restrictions (For casuals it makes sense but I mean FM4 curated, all events list to pick and choose for veterans) to make us think about the challenge just race so many event till the next one, 'yay').
FM5 & 7 I guess went the 'some limits but still usually car class related and whatever cars you had available so it wasn't much either of an obstacle just what car you had to access them.
Only GT games still have the technical car details restrictions most other car games are more particular in other areas about it to use any that are class E or A or other things like car type (Compact, Rally, Supercar) in Forza games or a medium range car, class C, B, A or a sofa, school bus, motorhome (Wreckfest).
But I mean just better balance the game then you don't need a whole other currency and awkward design just 'fix' it and balance it correctly. It depends how it is I don't know I'm just theorising so far as honestly Youtubers to even the menu look to the footage by devs is not clear to me. I didn't understand FM6 in menu footage of reviews till I bought it myself to understand what the game was.
This is why some RPG systems are hilarious. They can be used well. Sometimes not, it depends how they use it.
I have the currency or the reward car or a party member or an item in the world to acquire it can't be that hard oh we have skill trees because 'players can do it and we don't have to deal with adding it properly just 'when we say you can at the time but without as much work involved'.
Yes i hate skill trees in RPGs and many games have to be RPGs because no one can come up with any other solution apparently? Some stats/abilities offered that are passive and minor percentages are eh. The mods were fine in FM6 but I still didn't care. The Raptor event I had to remove the weight one, but otherwise I never noticed a different with the others at all.
Their existence I see them as is pure laziness in the development of the game to change things/put them where they can but a menu will save them even if more spaghetti code can happen then just playing it in a level and the code structure there.
And online requirement.
The rest I hope it's good and 'flexible' enough and not FM6 linear I was so bored I wanted to do the side content and only did the main content when I couldn't access the other. While FM5 & 7 allowed me to do both in reasonable reach so I didn't mind them.
I am so ready for this!!! I have at least 250-300 hours in GT7, I need a change of equal or better quality! LFG
P.S.
Post-release free cars and long-term support are exactly what I would prefer, to a fixed list and paid DLC every 6 months.
Hope we get some longroofs….VW Golf Alltrack, BMW 525 Wagon, Merc AMG wagon, A4/6 Allroad, Buick Roadmaster
@PhileasFragg
People miss the point on Forza Motosport vs Forza Horizon.
Motorsport is a racing simulator aiming at accuracy to the real world.
Horizon is an arcade racer aiming to simplify reality in return for greater fun.
Both have different purposes and target audiences. Forza Motorsports is targeting car nuts who want to see what it would be like to drive each car on a closed circuit track similar to real professional racing. Forza Horizon is a broad audience arcade racing game.
I like both, but for those different reasons. I like cars and like the Motorsports for what it is. Also like Horizon for the fun.
