During today's Forza Monthly livestream, the team at Turn 10 has given us a deeper look at the new Forza Motorsport career mode. While we're still breaking down all of that juicy info to bring you a roundup of the major details, a few notes from the stream's Q&A section immediately stuck out to us.
First off, the game's core progression is tied to the internet, meaning you'll always need to be connected to play through the campaign mode. During the livestream, the team said that things like Free Play mode will be accessible offline (where you can just pick a car/track and race), but all career progression only tracks when you're connected online.
During this same segment, DLC plans were touched on too, and the news is positive here. Turn 10 says that the current Deluxe and Premium edition DLC content (Car Pass, VIP membership and bonus car packs) is the only paid content planned. There will be no loot boxes / micro-DLC or anything of the sort, and the team will also be bringing free cars and more to the game after launch - in a similar fashion to Forza Horizon.
Recent Gran Turismo titles like Sport and GT7 seem to work online in a similar fashion - where the game's servers are always pinged to keep save files secure and prevent any sort of cheating or progression fixing. It seems that Forza Motorsport will be heading in the same direction when it launches this October for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
