The first of the two games today is Loop Hero, which is launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S for the first time following its release for PC and Nintendo Switch back in 2021. The game is highly rated on Metacritic with an average of 84 for Nintendo Switch and 82 for PC.
Here's what our sister site, Nintendo Life, had to say in their review of Loop Hero a couple of years ago:
"Loop Hero proves to be a fascinating and creative take on an RPG, distilling the genre down to its most important gameplay elements and throwing in some fresh ideas. Though some may be put off by the obviously repetitive nature of the core gameplay, Loop Hero is a consistently rewarding and engaging game that’ll easily get its hooks in you."
Meanwhile, the other game is Goat Simulator, which has returned to the library after being removed back on March 15th. We're assuming the licence has been renewed, hence it's reappearance.
Here's a closer look at the two new Xbox Game Pass arrivals today, plus the free PGA trial:
"The Lich has thrown the world into a timeless loop and plunged its inhabitants into never ending chaos. Wield an expanding deck of mystical cards to place enemies, buildings, and terrain along each unique expedition loop for the brave hero.
Recover and equip powerful loot for each class of hero for their battles and expand the survivors' camp to reinforce each adventure through the loop. Unlock new classes, new cards, and devious guardians on your quest to shatter the endless cycle of despair."
"You no longer have to imagine what it is like to cause as much destruction as possible as a goat. Soon you’ll be able to pick up a controller and take on the world as a goat, racking up points as you destroy the world around you, using your insanely long tongue to drag people and objects to their demise.
You could always pool your money with friends and buy a real goat instead – they’re not that expensive – but you will be able to do a lot more with them on Xbox than you can in real life!"
