It's always around this time that we start to look ahead at what's coming next for Game Pass, and next month is already pretty stacked, with six games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in May 2023 so far.
Of course, the big one is the first-party launch of Redfall, which drops right at the start of the month (unless we get some kind of last-minute delay...!). Then, we've got the likes of Ravenlok, Amnesia: The Bunker and Farworld Pioneers to look forward to, so we're definitely of the opinion that May 2023 is looking a fun month for Game Pass!
We'll keep you updated as and when more games are confirmed for May, but for now, here are more details on each of these six May 2023 Xbox Game Pass additions:
Redfall (May 2nd)
The town of Redfall is under siege by a legion of vampires who have cut the island off from the outside world. Trapped with a handful of survivors, slay alone or squad up in open-world FPS action.
Ravenlok (May 4th)
Ravenlok's life takes a turn for the unexpected when she stumbles through a magical mirror into a troubled kingdom. Explore fantastical realms, meet mad characters and defeat dark monsters to end the Caterpillar Queen’s reign of terror. Your destiny awaits in an action-packed, coming of age adventure.
Fuga: Melodies Of Steel 2 (May 11th)
The sequel to the captivating tale of Fuga: Melodies of Steel has arrived! This turn-based RPG is back with a ramped up battle system for more strategy, as well as a brand new event system that gives you more thrilling choices to affect your experience!
Amnesia: The Bunker (May 23rd)
Amnesia: The Bunker is a first-person horror game set in a desolate WW1 Bunker. Face the oppressing terrors stalking the dark corridors. Search for and use the tools and weapons at your disposal, while keeping the lights on at all costs. Overcome fear, persevere, and make your way out alive.
Railway Empire 2 (May 25th)
Don the coat of a clever entrepreneur, take over a small railway company in the early 1800s and turn your steam engines into the workhorses of the economy. Grow your company into the largest railway company of the continent and outsmart your competitors.
Farworld Pioneers (May 30th)
An open-world, sci-fi sandbox. Explore alone or with friends in multiplayer, build and manage colonies on alien planets and recruit AI survivors with unique personalities and skills. Craft, build, mine and farm together, or strap an electric death rifle to your back and take on the galaxy!
Of course, don't forget that we've got many more Xbox Game Pass titles to come in April 2023 as well, including the first-party arrival of Minecraft Legends next week. There may still be some surprises left for this month, too!

Ravenlock looked awesome when they first announced it. I enjoy this art style and am hoping it's a great game
Scrambling to finish a couple games before redfall, going to be a busy 2 weeks.
I'm looking forward to Redfall and not bothered about a '60fps' option being available at Launch. I would prefer the option to choose, but I have never 'struggled' playing games at 30fps - in fact, most of the games I have played in the past 20yrs are '30fps' on high end 'Premium' Consoles and MANY were game of the year contenders, if not Winners.
I don't ALWAYS pick the Performance mode - its not ALWAYS the best and/or even a consistent '60fps' despite being a 'cross-gen' game targeting '30fps' on last gen hardware. Most '60fps' games this gen were designed to run at 30fps on 'weak/slow' CPU's so 'next-gen' hardware has sufficient 'overheads' to deliver 60fps.
Some things don't 'scale' with resolution/graphical settings - AI, Physics etc don't change. If you have 10 enemy AI at 4k, you still have 10 at 1080p so the 'same' AI resources are needed at HD as at 4k - doesn't scale.
If it doesn't feel 'good' enough to play, I'll wait - but I played through games like Witcher 3, FarCry, Borderlands, AC, Last of Us, GoW, Uncharted, Horizon:ZD, Dishonored, Prey, Fallout, Mass Effect etc etc etc at 30fps - even if 'some' are 'boosted' to 60fps today via BC, Patches and/or remasters now offering 60fps.
You can see why they are hesitant to delay Redfall. The line up is really light without it.
@Kaloudz I honestly would had expected the announcement of a delay to come Friday night, the time to bury bad news. There still a chance it might happen during this weekend (today or tomorrow) but if they have not pushed it back by Monday, I think they plan to simply go through with it.
We're already so close to Redfall? I have zero interest, but I forgot it was so soon. Hopefully it's good for the people that do like that kind of game.
@Kaloudz I certainly hope there’s no delay. Ironically, as a nitpicker of games, I do get quite tired of the lack of appreciation that many gamers have that we’re about to finally get a huge Xbox exclusive. I say let us have it in its glorious Bethesda form!
Redfall is not getting delayed lol.
I am quite excited about this lineup. And I still need to start Ghostwire, plus looking forward to playing Minecraft Legends with my son still in April
@Kaloudz I’ll be honest, I prefer 30 fps from time to time. Forspoken looked a lot better in quality mode. I prefer the quality of the frames over the quantity of them, I suppose.
Every gamer wil be playing Tears of the Kingdom.. so doesn’t matter
The one game I'm interested in each month always ends up being near the end of the month. Currently waiting for Homestead Arcana. I'm really interested in Farworld Pioneers. I've been wishing forever they would but Starbound on console. Preferably the Switch.
@BAMozzy I am going to play on PC. However, when the game launches, I will also check it out on console. That way I can judge for myself how it feels and bounce back to PC. Sure, it is unfortunate that a 60 fps or "Prioritize Framerate" mode will seemingly not be available at launch.
I do not believe there will be another delay for Redfall. We are too close to launch and MS/Bethesda/Arkane already bit the bullet and announced the patch may miss day one. A delay would mean the patch PR hit was unnecessary. Let's just hope any other bugs are reasonable.
Hoping Ravenlok is a winner - looks fun. Fuga 2 definetly as the first was a nice surprise. And always meant to try Railway Empire so excited for that too. Throw in that other little game and May is shaping up to be awesome in my estimation.
Honestly, there’s nothing I’m excited for this month (yes that includes Redfall, though it’s not a frame rate thing — just not my bag). But that’s okay, it gives me time to chip away at the Forza Horizon 5 rally DLC backlog.
Aw, who am I kidding. I’ll be lost in Tears of the Kingdom like everyone else.
I really hope Redfall will be a great game. I bought a Series X last February (first time I own a non-PS console after the Super Nintendo), but still find myself playing mostly on my PS5 because the PS Plus catalogue feels much more current gen than Game Pass.
@BAMozzy I'm right there with you man, I'll be playing Redfall day one. I've been playing games 27+ years now & I can honestly say back in the day it wasn't an issue & if I shunned every game because of the lack of 60fps I'd miss out on some truly incredible games. I think Redfall will be a fun co-op experience and the 60fps mode will give me something to look forward to lol. I will say I think DEVS should absolutely target 60fps on current gen consoles (Series X|S, PS5) even if that means lowering resolution (dynamic 4K or 1440p would be fine, hell even 1080p if need be). Happy gaming ✌️
@theduckofdeath MS has a 'reputation' of not being able to deliver games, not getting them out for us to play etc and another Delay would likely be more harmful to MS overall than those 'disappointed' they can't play Redfall at launch at 60fps.
@Master_Cthulhu70 I have no issue with Performance options targeting lower resolutions and/or lower graphical settings in order to hit 60fps (or more), but I also think 30fps Quality mode is 'more' important. It creates a better 'first' impression to see the 'best' visual quality - why most trailers and game-play presentations focus on Quality modes and as I said, 30fps is more than 'adequate' to play games at. It certainly never stopped me playing ANY game.
I think playing Solo, creeping around an Open world, stealthing my way around, taking things slow and steady, 30fps is fine. Its not as if I am 'competing' with real players who may have an edge playing at 'higher' frame rates and every ms matters...
Ok, I'll give Redfall a try, but "a strong start"?
No.
Ravenlok looks awsome, but with zelda tears of the Kingdom coming in may,my xbox will probably be on dust collection mode during a while.
Can't wait for railway empire 2,although I've still got an unhealthy addiction to transport fever 2 and no man's sky. Good list of games, although redfall just isn't doing it for me. Will definitely try all of them but railway empire and raven lock will probably get the most attention.
Game on!
@Ocat lol. That's my concern too. I'll barely be able to give Redfall a fair shake.
Eh, one game I know I don't care about and five I've never heard of. I sub on and off month to month and this isn't enough to get me to sub this month.
The only one I'm a little bit interested is Amnesia.
The rest, I don't care.
Who cares about redfall when zelda is released in may
@somnambulance
But the mighty youtube and twitter influencers have already told us that we won't enjoy it at 30 fps no matter how good the gameplay is!
Lucky I take zero notice of them and can't wait to play it.
@Clankylad complete agree, it's a small but loud minority. Most people if you didn't tell them would not even notice after a while.
Its not some competitive fighter where exact frame timing is required for tournaments or anything.
@NickramCTID the mighty influencers can go influence themselves. I make up my own mind. Lol.
Really want to play redfall. But really getting the vibe to avoid for at least a week while several patches come out.
@NickramCTID This is exactly what is wrong with gaming today. Having some try hard on camera looking like bad anime cosplay in dark room full of purple lighting that cares more about "don't forget to like and subscribe and ring that bell" than they have actual and legit knowledge about gaming.
