Update: All of the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May 2023 have now been confirmed!
You'll find more details below.
Original story: What's leaving Xbox Game Pass in May 2023? Well, Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything just yet, but based on some games that were added to the service this time last year, we can at least make a few predictions ahead of time.
We know that a lot of Xbox users want more advance notice of games leaving Xbox Game Pass, but Microsoft understandably gives us around two weeks right now - and don't forget, publishers sometimes secure late deals with Microsoft to keep their games on Game Pass, even after they've been announced to be leaving!
So, before we take a look at the following list of potential games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May 2023, we want to stress that nothing has been confirmed yet, and this will not be a 100% accurate list by any means. Some of these games might leave, some of these games might stay, and many others might be added to the list.
The most common (but definitely not the only) trend with Xbox Game Pass seems to be that games stick around for one year, so we've gone back to May 2022 to look at the games that were added to Game Pass at the time. That said, we've also added a few games from the May 2021 list as well. Based on those original announcements, here's what we think could potentially leave Xbox Game Pass in May 2023:

May 4, 2021 | Console, PC | |
May 13, 2021 | Just Cause 4: Reloaded | Console, PC, Cloud |

May 26, 2022 | Sniper Elite 5 | Console, PC, Cloud |
May 27, 2022 | Pac-Man Museum+ | Console, PC, Cloud |
As mentioned previously, there could be plenty of additions to this list, and many of these games might stick around on Xbox Game Pass for even longer, but it seems likely that we'll lose at least some of these in May 2023. Our predictions for the past few months have turned out to be around 50-75% correct.
Of course, we've still got more games set to leave Xbox Game Pass in April 2023 as well, with seven games leaving on April 15th, and another batch likely leaving on April 30th. You can find more details about April below:

I hope Sniper Elite 5 stays. It’s one of my all time favorite games. I just beat the recent DLC map. If it leaves GP, I’ll more than likely buy it as well. Lol.
Citizen Sleeper really shouldn't be missed out on if you haven't played it.
I need to get back to Maneater and to finish the campaign on it.
I hope you are wrong on many of these Fraser as there's loads I haven't gotten around to but want to including Citizen Sleeper, Loot River, Sniper Elite 5 & Danganronpa 2.
Why can't Microsoft keeps these seems to me there's a lot of top games leaving the service and being replaced by a lot of indie games constantly I do lice gamepass but there's to much going each month and it's always a lot of big games
Sniper Elite will probably stay until a new one comes out.
Pretty sure they were <50% for April.
@Sebatrox I don’t know if it will since it’s “Game Preview” that’s not the same thing as full Game Pass. The game would have to be ready for “launch”.
@jordan1992 that's 100% false. You can keep playing games that were on the essentials list, just like you can keep playing GWG on Xbox. Games on higher tiers are gone when they're removed though, which is the same as Game Pass
Maneater was so good that I bought the expansion, and my wife adored DQ Builders and wound up getting every achievement which was quite a grind. I also played through Mechwarrior 5 but I would say that one us not for everyone... quite janky and low budget feeling, but I liked it.
There's a lot there on my play later lists....I'm hoping a few miss the cut
I hope Snowrunner doesn't go. I really like that game and is a great for a slow, chill, gaming session with a nice challenge, but a slow pace.
I would just like to say thank you for continuing to make these lists.
Also, there is no April 31st.
