Capcom has announced today as part of the latest "Capcom Spotlight" event for March 2023 that Resident Evil 4's remake has received a free demo on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S (along with other platforms), available today!
This trial version of the game is known as the "Chainsaw Demo", which allows you to play through an early part of the story (described as the bit where "Leon first enters a European village"). Unlike certain other Resident Evil demos, it also has no time limit whatsoever!
"This demo consists of a specially tuned version of the game's opening sequence and can be played repeatedly without time restrictions. With modernized gameplay, a reworked story, and vividly detailed graphics, you can relive the nightmare of survival horror."
Keep in mind that we've only got two weeks until the launch of Resident Evil 4's remake which is set to release on Friday, March 24th. The preload is also now available, even if you haven't purchased the game yet!

Waiting for it to finish downloading I could only find it by searching chainsaw
Guessing progress doesn’t carry over? Sounds like it isn’t quite at the beginning of the game.
Great stuff. I'll be playing tonight
Just played the demo. There is absolutely zero difference between Aim Assist being off and on. I tried it all different ways. Aim Assist doesn't exist in this demo. Lol.
@Romans12 You mean you automatically lock on to enemies with it on and off?
@Snake_V5 No, I mean whether the option was on or off didn't make any difference from what I experienced. Either way, there was never any locking on to any enemy. It made the gameplay a bit frustrating to me. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong in the options menu.
i like my guns to be powerful but i dont see the option for easy mode.
