I despise IGN and hate why they have such a prominent position in the media industry
@trev666 well they were huge over 20 years ago so it stands to reason that the early success there held them in good stead for the present future.
@trev666 and as a reviewer myself at the time (I was actually close to getting a position as a UK based journalist there even) they were setting the bar in terms of presentation and delivery of content. They invested in that future too. They ran the ign insider program to generate revenue and fund big exclusives which most likely strengthened their PR with publishers and developers. It might not be what me or you might want now, but they are extremely popular with strong roots in the industry that won't be upended by some YouTube commentators memeing about yet another 7/10 or people dissatisfied with a review score they gave a particular game half a decade ago.
@trev666 Absolutely typical of gamers these days to hate on successful big companies..
Some good looking games coming up. Benedict Fox, Jedi Survivor and Expanse look fantastic !
