Arkane is bringing its newest FPS to Xbox Game Pass on day one in May 2023, and as we near the game's upcoming launch date, the team continues to show off heftier chunks of Redfall gameplay, as expected.
Well, this latest look — which arrives via IGN's 'Fan Fest' event — is all about Redfall's open world depiction of a fictional town in Massachusetts going by the name of 'Redfall'. Things aren't quite normal in this town though - unless you consider 8ft tall vampires lurking about the place a standard day in the life.

Anyway, there's plenty of shootouts packed into this latest trailer as well, and we must admit, exploring Redfall and taking out whatever we must in the process looks like a hell of a good time.
As revealed at Xbox's first ever Developer Direct event in January, Arkane's Redfall hits Xbox Series X|S and PC, including on Xbox Game Pass, on May 2nd 2023.
Are you excited for Arkane's next effort? Let us know if you're playing this one on Game Pass in May!

Arkane is best 💚👌
First I didn’t care because it sounded like a left 4 dead clone.
Then I started to care because they told us it’s more like a Far Cry game.
Then I stopped caring at all because it’s incompatible with the way I play games. If I can’t use quick resume, or just stop playing mid mission and come back a few days later, because some required internet connection on solo play, then I just not only don’t care to play the game, but simply can’t play the game.
@Kaloudz no children, and never will, but do have plenty of attention seeking pets and spend basically every waking hour on call.
It’s a big reason I never play online games, with the rare exception of MMOs that are persistent and I will return to be exactly were I was when I suddenly left the game.
i really dont know what to make of Redfall still. Not that its going to be bad. I just see it and think 'meh'. Takes things from FC/AC-conquering areas for example.
l just dont know, i dont think reviews would sway me either, one i have to try for myself. Thankfully i do not have to spend $70 to try it.
Looking really good
I can't wait, this game looks awesome.
Don't see anything worthwhile. If there is anything good about this game they are doing a good job of hiding it. Just my honest opinion.
@Kaloudz same boat here brother. Quick resume has been a God send for me having kids and quickly getting out of a game. Its also why I love the switch so much for the portability aspect when the TV is taken up. Dad's and games...always the ever battling saga.
@Kaloudz haha yep! My wife always gives me the hardest of times since I stay up til 2am on the weekends catching up on games and draggin @$$ the next morning.
Tbh I have not payed attention to the game much since it looked like a left 4 dead type game...but someone said it's more like far cry in the comments?....maybe Il have to do a lil research
This as plenty of potential and you can see Arkane
DNA in it of course.
Not long to see what it comes out like.
Just hoping for the best - it has all the DNA of a winner …
I'm looking forward to this game!
@Tharsman If you subscribe to Game Pass, all I can say is try it. You might be pleasantly surprised that some of your concerns aren't as problematic as you might think.
@StylesT I'm not really sure it's like either one.
I mean, I have only ever played Far Cry and Far Cry 2 (for like no more than an hour or two), so I am not exactly sure what a "Far Cry" game feels like. Were there some staples of a Far Cry game that came in later iterations?
It's definitely not Left 4 Dead.
@GamingFan4Lyf if the game can’t be played solo offline, no, I won’t be giving it a try.
@Tharsman Okay. You must have your reasons, so I understand.
other than the always online thing, i am not super sold on the wacky/zany style of the player characters.
that kind of young, cocky ,i am super awesome attitude just grates with me and even though it looks to be able to adapt ok to playing solo not as a 4 player team it still looks heavily designed as meant to be multiplayer.
@MrList One would think...solo is more than "ok".
From the XBOX direct to this, I've become highly invested and excited for this game. Just surprised they didn't go this route when first introduced.
It's Arkane, so you know i'll be there day 1.
